PhD Program

Admission

In order to be admitted to the PhD program you need:

1 To have the knowledge provided by the Master programs 2 To have achieved a minimum of 12 (out of 20) in all courses and at

least 14 (out of 20) in average.

3 To be supervised by an ECARES fellow. ◮ co-supervision possible under certain constraints

If the first criterium above is not fulfilled Enrollement in the Master (120ECTS) or in the second year of the Master (60ECTS)

PhD program

Structure and requirements

The PhD program is structured in: Doctoral research training

◮ 40ECTS you gain with academic activities (presentation at conferences,

seminars, advanced courses, visiting,. . . )

◮ 20ECTS from successful intermediate evaluation ◮ Leading to “Certificat de formation à la recherche”

Doctorate

◮ Thesis expected to be completed in at most 3-4 years

Funding & Office

There are six main ways of getting funding: Teaching In-house funding (mini-ARC) (deadline: February 2015) FNRS (deadline: February 2015) FRESH (deadline: September 2015) Private scholarships (check the ECARES webiste) Your own supervisor Offices are primarily reserved to students with a TA position or with funding.
