Overview

• Crenshaw/LAX Project:

Ø Extends Metro Rail to Aviation and

Century Boulevards

Ø Provides foundation for connection to

LAX

• Airport Metro Connector Project:

Ø Goal – connect regional transit network

to LAX

Ø Long Range Transportation Plan

• Metro funding: $200 M (2008$)
• Opening Year: 2028, or earlier,

dependent upon airport contribution Airport Future Crenshaw/LAX & Metro Green Lines

Direct LRT Branch Modified LRT Trunk (Through LAX)

• Extends Metro Green Line to LAX terminals
• Crenshaw/LAX passengers transfer to Metro Green Line

at Aviation/Century station

• Two or three stations in terminal area
• Both Metro Green and Crenshaw/LAX Lines serve the

LAX terminals

• One underground station in terminal area

Circulator (APM)

Aviation/Century station

• BRT uses existing roadway in terminal area with stops

at each terminal

• NOT ADOPTED IN SPAS PLAN UPDATES

Potential Transit Connection Locations Proposed by LAWA (12/12)

• Automated People Mover (APM) to connect the terminals and “off-airport” facilities

– Schedule and phasing to be determined

• Three potential locations for LRT / APM connections:

1. West of Sepulveda Boulevard within Central Terminal Area; 2. Intermodal Transportation Facility south of Parking Lot C; or 3. Future Crenshaw/LAX / Metro Green Line rail station at Aviation and Century Boulevards
