What’s on site and what’s coming up….

  • Over 200 new affordable homes are under construction
  • The new homes are a mix of family houses, bungalows and apartments

and include:-

  • 70 Extra Care apartments
  • 23 apartments for ‘Active Elderly’ (over 55’s)
  • 2 Wheelchair Compliant bungalows
  • 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family houses

………from the Council……..

  • 19 new affordable homes are planned using Right to Buy receipts, S106

funds, New Build Reserve and Housing Revenue Account Balances

Greenhill Road Garage Court

  • A challenging, problematic site with

many empty garages experiencing increasing anti-social behaviour at a high cost to the Council and detrimental to the neighbourhood.

  • Planning permission granted in July

Greenhill Road Garage Court

  • The planned scheme is

for 2 x 2-bed bungalows built to Lifetime Homes standard with associated parking and landscaping

  • The new homes will be

allocated to applicants from the Council’s Housing Register Delivery of this scheme will eliminate anti-social behaviour associated with the site whilst also providing much needed affordable housing.

  • The former ‘drying’ area adjacent to St Gregory’s Court has lain redundant and unused for

many years

  • Planning permission for 12 x 1-bed apartments has been granted
  • The new homes will be allocated to applicants over the age of 55 from the Council’s Housing

Register

  • The homes will be built to Lifetime Homes standard with ground floor apartments having

showers installed and first floor apartments will have traditional bathrooms

  • Disabled parking will be provided within the scheme with further parking being made

available on the perimeter of the site

  • The scheme will have storage available for electric buggies

Alanbrooke

  • The site has lain empty for many years and had a covenant in place

restricting the use of the land

  • The covenant has been revised to allow development of affordable

housing and the new homes will be allocated to applicants on the Council’s Housing Register

  • A scheme of 4 x 2-bed houses and 1 x 3-bed house is planned and a

planning application is expected shortly

developed out as part of their 2011-2015 Homes and Communities Affordable Housing Funding Programme

  • The scheme will deliver 5 x 2-bedroom homes and 2 x 3-

bedroom homes for Affordable Rent

  • The new homes will be allocated to applicants from the

Council’s Housing Register

  • Expected completion June/July 2014

  • A further former Council-owned site transferred to Russet Homes
  • On site with expected completion May 2014
  • 2 x 2-bedroom bungalows with associated parking and

  • Anti-social behaviour on the open

space and illegal parking on the Council-owned car park was having a negative affect on nearby residents

  • The new scheme will deliver 6 x 1-

bed apartments for people over the age of 55 As part of the works, a stopping up order has been approved and the alleyway adjacent to Longferry Court (Gravesham-owned sheltered scheme) will be gated, so providing added security for Gravesham’s elderly residents.
