Motivation: The purpose
project is an application
kite based sustainable
using sails as main propulsion as well as we can see high-performance modern kiteboards achieving high velocity. Moreover, it is known that work conditions for a kite are much better than for a sail due to stronger and stable winds at significant heights – so why modern vessels don’t use the kite as a main propeller?

To ensure the comfort of sailing, it will be equipped with hydrofoils lifting the hull above the water surface. This solution allows primarily to reduce hydrodynamics resistance and significantly reduce the impact of sea waves. The design of supporting surface based on the profile NACA 4412 and adjusted to the weight of the hull 7,5t . Slajd o kadłubie Main emphasis was placed on design of yacht and
lines, small draft and small resistance. The superstructure is fitted to the design and developed considering functionality, that minimizing air resistance and increasing the attractiveness of the yacht at the quay.

The main propulsion system consist of a set of kites mounted on a special rail, minimizing heeling arm. Kites are designed successively larger in order to enable raising and folding them during journey. For designed yacht, it was chosen C-shape kites, due to four-point mounting system. All kites during the "rest" will be rolled on two drums in the hold. The drums will be placed on the rail ), on which they will move so as to enable folding and winding of all kites from one hatch.

Power lines will be hooked to the elliptical rail, which purpose, is to minimizing the heeling moment. This rail will be a “stretched spline” between four points on the vessel, and will be placed in the hold to make it comfortable to mount drums to the rail.
