Extended Learning Time

  • ISBE does allow for ELT.
  • ELT must be approved in the original application.
  • Under ESSA, the requirements for ELT have changed.
  • “[ELT] provides students at least 300 additional program hours before, during,
  • r after the traditional school day; [it also must] supplement but not supplant

regular school day requirements”.

  • Your program will need to describe and provide evidence (i.e.

program schedule, principal letter of support, district approval etc.)

  • f how it will be able to meet this requirement before ELT is

approved.

Fees and Fundraising

  • Fees and Fundraising
  • Per The US Department of Education (ED) each state has to

submit a request to allow grantees to charge fees as well as establish how fundraising dollars will be used.

  • We have submitted our request for permission after setting our

parameters based on the current RFP and best practices.

  • Please watch for updates that will be broadcasted once our

request has been approved by ED.

Example for Results/Accomplishment Section

  • 1. Source for Measurement 2.a.1: Attendance Rate: We offered programming

four days a week during the first reporting period. Due to this, we have seen an increase in the number of students that attend school daily as well as our program.

  • 2. Source for Measurement 3.a.2: Suspension: We have seen a decrease in the

number of suspensions this year. The administration has attributed this to

  • ur after school program attendance.
  • 3. Source for Measure 6.a.2 Attendance at Workshop: This goal was met when

I attended the Fall Workshop hosted by AIR and ISBE on October 10, 2018.
