General Managers Slow but steady may win the race… …but we want to get there sooner!

As of Dec. 31, 2017…

 Out of 11,301 AM and FM radio

stations, 1,974 stations, or 18.1%, are managed by women.

 Increase from 17.8 % in 2016.  Consistent growth since 2004,

when women managed 14.9%

  • f all stations.

…Slightly Larger Piece of the Pie.

 Percentage of women managing Top 100 Market

radio stations slightly higher than national average.

 In 2017, 18.5%, up from 17.7% in 2016  Most importantly, this trend is showing growth

year-over-year.

Best Opportunity for Women? Sales.

 Overall the best management

  • pportunities for women continue to

be in Sales Management

 31.9 % of all stations had a female sales

manager in 2017…up .05%

 In the Top 100 Markets, it’s 32.7%,

which is an increase of more than 1 full share point from 2016.

Female Program Directors … The Greatest Challenge

 10.5 % of all stations are programmed

by women.

 This number basically flat for the past 11

years.

 Top 100 Markets a little better 11.7 %. But

unfortunately, slightly down from last year.

Conclusion: …Radio Rocks and Girls Rule

 Radio is America’s # 1 reach medium with 247,782,000 listeners. 93%

  • f U.S. 18+ reached weekly.

 Slow, but consistent, career growth in radio management for women.  The biggest opportunities in sales management, biggest challenge is

programming.

 As sales managers continue to move up the “career ladder,” the

number of GM opportunities to continue to grow.

 MIW Group is ever-optimistic…creating new programs and
