We created and released the new Strategic Directions in April 2016. The Strategic Directions include the areas

• f Membership, Professional

Development, Organization within the Section, and Communication. We are preparing to collaborate with the Membership Committee to create a personnel survey to learn more about our members and help us to better serve them.

Membership & Outreach Committee

• Charge: To recruit, orient, survey and welcome new members. To provide

reports to the Executive Committee identifying membership trends and

• needs. To enhance communication and networking among members of

similar interests, especially for those not attending the annual conference. To attempt to persuade withdrawing and former section members to re- join.

• Membership statistics for the Arts section as of April 2016
• 6% increase from 2015 in individual members
• Of those, 14 were new members
• 33% increase in Student and Support Staff memberships.

• Social media policy developed
• New blog design
• Social media survey draft under development
• Future Projects
• Partner with ACRL Arts Section's Strategic Planning Committee to develop a

personnel survey of section members.
