PRESIDENT’S REPORT

I would like to welcome everyone to our annual presentation night. This season was our first as an amalgamated club and while we had some teething problems on a whole it was a successful season. Despite the challenges that we faced this season, the committee have already started working on to make sure next season is even more successful on and off the field. We are trying to build a new culture at the club now that we have united. New events were introduced to start building a great Colts culture. We kicked off club BBQs once a month at the RSL that were successful, I would like to see more support of all club members to really bring the club together. We held a run-a-thon fundraiser with the junior teams. Unfortunately the run-a-thon did not receive as much support as hoped which was disappointing as it one of our new initiatives to help raise funds for the club to go back to our members and the kids. We also held our very successful annual Trivia Night which was a great night and enjoyed by everyone who attended. These events are all held to help our club build our new culture and it does take a lot of hard work and devotion from the committee to put them on. It would be great to see more support from our club members, both juniors and seniors . We have a great club but it will get even better with more support from our members. On the field we fielded 11 teams in the PJCA and NDCA competitions, which was great to see. While we didn’t come away with any premierships this year we had 5 teams contest the semi finals U13’s, U14’s, U16’s, 2nd Grade & 6th Grade. Unfortunately for the Colts Mother Nature decided to turn on the rain semi final weekend. None of our teams got to play there semi final and it turned out to be a disappointing weekend with all our teams bar our 6th Grade team captained by Pat Yates, who finished the season as minor premiers and advanced to the Grand Final. The Grand Final didn’t quite go the way Pat and the boys would have liked but the old saying catches wins matches couldn’t have been truer. I know they will be back bigger next season to redeem themselves. A special mention goes to our two U10s who didn’t have semi finals but finished 2nd and 3rd on the table which shows the future for the Colts is looking good. I would like to thank the whole committee John, Belinda, Marlene, Robbie, Phil, Karen, Alex, Chris, Pat, Bruce and Paul for all their hard work this season to ensure the club was able to run as successfully as it has. I would like to make special mention to John for the work he has put into the club. This season John took

  • n the role of co-ordinator for the In2Cricket program. A program designed to introduce and develop

the Colts of the future. John has also ran the meat raffles at the RSL 3 out of 4 Thursday nights by himself, raising extra funds for the club. Thanks mate for your efforts it is much appreciated. There were some outstanding individual performances and achievements during this season that I would like to mention. Firstly congratulations to Pat Yates for becoming the first player to bring up 400 games for the club in his 30th season. Pat is a stalwart of the club who has played from 1st Grade through to 9th Grade during

these 30 seasons. He has held a number of positions on the committee for the club most notably as the Club Secretary a role in which he held for 18 years. Congratulations also too  Fahkar Nabeel (1st Grade) – 100  Mitchell Smith (6th Grade) – 126no  Patrick Hinder (Under 13s) – 163no & 188  Ashley Day (Under 13s) – 153no  Logan McIlwain (Under 13s) – 100no  Les Harris (8th Grade) – 7/24 Also I would like to congratulate the number of Juniors who played reps with Penrith and well done to Ashley Day (U13s) and Kiera Perry (U16s) who represented NSW Girls this season. Well done girls!!! District Awards I would like to congratulate the following players for winning District awards this season. We also had the additional sponsors come on board this year which was great and their continued support is greatly appreciated:  G Mather & Associates  Penrith Lock Up  Framin Good Photography  St Marys Indoor Recreation Centre  League and Legend Mt Druitt  Aussie Down Under Pizzas We thank these organisations for their involvement with our club and encourage you to support these

  • businesses. If you or someone you know might be interested in becoming a club sponsor please come

and speak to us. We always need more sponsors to help build our club so if there are any club members, parents, family or friends that are interested in becoming a club sponsor for next season jump on board now we are a club going places. Hope you all have a great night. See you all next season.

SECRETARYS REPORT

This is our clubs first year as a united club and whilst it has presented its challenges has been worth all the efforts. I would like to official acknowledge the work & dedication of our current committee. It is their efforts that have made this club what it is today. Huge thanks to Adam Coleman, Robbie Bates, Marlene Coleman, Belinda Moore, Karen Wicks, Alex Fenn, Phil Bates & Chris Brooker. It has been a privilege working with a dedicated

  • committee. Special mention to Pat Yates for attending & contributing to monthly meetings.

A huge congratulations goes to Pat Yates, not only for reaching an amazing milestone of 400 games for the Colts but for also leading his 6th Grade boys to a grand final. Unfortunately the boys were beaten on the day but played with true Colts pride. Four other Colts sides made finals this year, a wet September put an end to their final aspirations with all four teams eliminated due to ground closures. Congratulations go to our 2nd Grade, U13, U14/1 & U16/1 for a great year. Our AGM will be held on the 20th June 2013, come & have a say on how your club is run, all

  • ur welcome.

On that note, a final thank you to all players, coaches, managers , parents & friends that have participated, assisted or attended matches & events this year. All are welcome back to make the Colts a bigger & better side for the coming season. Yours in Cricket John Sultana Club Secretary Colyton St Clair Colts Cricket Club

SEASON 2012/13 1st GRADE

Another tough year in the premier grade with only 3 wins. For the 2nd year running we lost 3 close games from winning positions which cost us the finals. We lost couple of bowlers to injuries and other commitments which left our attack shorthanded. As expected Waz was carrying majority of the work load and did a great job. Our batting lacked persistence and patience which put a lot of pressure on the

  • bowlers. Fahkar was again outstanding with the bat who on a number of occasions put the team in

winning position. Overall the team stuck together through a tough year which was very positive. The belief is still there that we can handle premier grade and are keen to give it another crack! On behalf of the team I would like to give a big thank you to the Colts for all the support throughout the year! Waqas

2nd GRADE

Well this was a very up and down season for the boys in 2nd grade and we never really reached the potential that I believe we should have. Coming up to 2nd grade after the last 3 years of success, was a big change for the team and certainly the batters never really got going in any games. But this was evident across the whole grade. Even the bowling which has been our strength in the last few years, struggled at times. When our fielding was on we would more often than not come out on top but when it was off let’s just say we weren’t pretty to watch. In saying that I always thought we were really in with a chance to win if we had some luck go our way as the big performance that we had promised was just around the corner. Geoff kept telling us that his big score was only a week away unfortunately now we have to wait another season to see it. Mother Nature played her part and helped us into the semis in 4th place. We had proven on our day we could beat any team and had beaten all the teams in the top 4. Unfortunately Mother Nature decided to play her part in our demise as well after helping us out, our semi-final was then washed out finishing the season with a bitter taste. Performances of note this year were with Beggsy who had a good season with the ball & took out the NDCA 2nd grade bowling aggregate. Jake was the one batter who was consistent at the top of the order and went close to taking out the 2nd grade batting aggregate if only he used a lighter bat. Thanks to the boys again this year it a pleasure to captain this team. We will be back next year looking to go two better and take out the big one. AC

6th GRADE

After making the semi finals in 7th grade last season the team move up to 6th grade for season 2012/13. Round 1 with three new players to the club we were beaten outright. Round 2 we had our first win after scoring only 114 runs. Round 3 we had to fight hard not to be beaten outright again. Things looked up from Round 4 and at the end of Round 14 the team finished in 1st place with 9 wins, 1 draw and 4 loses. Semi-final saw both days washed out we made it into the Grand Final. The Grand Final after losing the toss and being in the field for one hour we had three wickets. Our fielding quickly went from good to bad, with a number of catches going being dropped, we found

  • urselves chasing a score of over 200 runs.

Our batting was not good, with our 1st innings all out for 84 on the first day. On day two batting, again the team made 85 in the second innings We had some outstanding performances during the season from Round 1 to 14; with the bat Mitch Smith 126 not out (batting through 40 overs), Matthew Garside 82. With the bowling, Mitch Stevens in round 9 1st innings 6/19 and 2nd innings 6/19 (12 wickets in the match), round 10 Mitch Smith taking all 5 wicket before play was washed out and in round 11 John Sultana 6/48. I would like to thank Patrick Hinder and Jaimyn Skrypka from our junior teams for filling in during the season their first games with the seniors. Congratulations to the NDCA trophy winners from 6th grade Mitch Smith bowling average 10.46 and Mark Pendergast with the Wicket Keeping award. Yours in cricket Pat Yates

8th GRADE

Thanks to all the fella’s for a very entertaining and fun season. We started off a bit ordinary but after a little reshuffling of the batting order we seemed to settle on a pretty good line up. Every side need’s a good top three batsman and in Lee Godden and Les Ardle

  • pening, Sean Fiztgerald coming in at three we had that. Lee’s 53 not out and carried his bat, as well as

some bruises, Les’s 46 don’t worry mate that elusive 50 is coming, and Sean’s 92, and he wasn’t meant to play that day, well done fella’s. Sean seemed to lift the rest of us when we bat with him, even though all we wanted to do is give him the strike whenever we could. Ben Harris and Jesse Shine opened the bowling for us once more and did a great job. Ben’s best 2/7 show’s how he frustrates batsmen and doesn’t go for many run’s, Jesse’s best 4/32 mean’s he too is a wicket taker, just need’s to keep his line and length when he gets angry. Just to show the old bloke’s can still hold their own, Pardle’s 5/9, Pete Shine’s 4/66 and my own 7/24 kept the young bloke’s honest even though they call us burglars. There was some good fielding at times and some great catch’s taken, also some great work behind the stump’s with I think 4 different keeper’s at time’s. Thanks also to Matt Harker, Dave Stevens, Mitch Stevens, Aaron Lewis, Grant Austin and young Brandon Gavin for filling at times for us when needed. Big thanks to Pete Shine for the extra effort he put in organising the Beer Mug to celebrate my 100th wicket and to all the fella’s for the comment’s and assistance over the seasons. Special thanks to Tamara for doing the often thankless task of scoring for us throughout the season, even with everyone peering over her shoulder, and making my life easier when I have to enter all the detail’s into my cricket. Thanks to everyone who started the season and to the new bloke’s who finished. Cheers all Les Harris

UNDER 9s

This year the boys had a great time playing cricket. The improvement from last year clearly shined

  • through. All the boys took their chances to shine as the season progressed.

Bryce was a clear standout with the bat, hitting fours in nearly every game and was very difficult to get

  • ut. Bryce just missed out on hitting a couple of sixes by a metre or so. Junior was very consistent with

the ball, bowling at speed week in week out. Connor's fielding was great, his speed to the ball helped the team every week, and also his talk at the non-strikers end was fantastic. Bailey B took out the batting award this year, he batted well scoring many runs and consistently bowled fast out swingers. Bailey was just short of hitting a six as well. Cody, our quiet achiever was a pleasure to coach. Cody is always eager to get to the ball and took many wickets this season earning himself the bowling award. Jack was our smiling assassin, yet another boy who gave his all every week taking valuable wickets and making his share of the runs. Bailey L joined the team this season. His bowling continued to improve as the season progressed. Bailey took some fine wickets and also contributed with the bat. Lachlan also joined the team this season. What difference a few training sessions make. Lachlan improved greatly with each game. His batting shone towards the seasons end with runs coming freely. This year the coaching and training duties were shared due to work commitments. Steve and I shared the responsibilities with great success. Thanks Steve for all your support throughout the season, the team appreciates your efforts. I'd like to thank our manager Tracey, this season would not have been a success without Tracey's efforts, commitment and passion. Last but not the least a big thank you to all the parents for chipping in when needed. It was a pleasure to have you guys help out at training and the games. Well done boys on a great season. UNDER 10 GREENS Let me start off with all the thank you’s, firstly the players it has been pleasure to coach the boys this year, to the parents, grandparents and family who came out to support the boys thank you your support was much appreciated, thanks to Drew, Michael, and Darren for their help at training and at the games with setting up, scoring etc, a big thanks to Pat for co-coaching the team and running the training sessions each week until I could get there and finally to Chris for his work as the team manager and helping out with the scoring. This season saw a new mix of players come together with 6 players returning and 5 new players in their first competitive season of cricket. The boys had a very successful season sitting in the top 3 all season which was a great result when you look closely at the stats for the year, we didn’t have many players in the top 10 for batting or bowling. It showed that the results that we achieved were all based on the team playing well together week in week out. Every player had his time to shine during the year but I would like to mention Oscar and Bailey as they lead the team in all areas and through their efforts with the bat, ball or in the field certainly help the team to achieve the results we did. Player review Sam Brooker – Sam was solid the bat and doesn’t give his wicket away easy, he is developing as a good left arm spin bowler who by the end of the season was landing the ball and turning to trouble all batsmen. Alex Clark – for a little bloke he has a big heart, with the bat he has a good technique (one of the best in the team) few more wheat bix’s to hit the ball harder, his bowling was excellent all season bowled a great line and length. Bailey Coleman – Bailey is classy batsmen and he was great this year playing all the shots and would come up with the big ones when needed, his bowling has developed well throughout the year, and his ground fielding saved a lot of runs for the team. Lachlan George – in his first year Lachlan is developing into a good fast bowling when he followed through with his action he was one of the quickest in the comp, he loves to hit the ball hard and when he does it stays hit. Dillon Meurling – this was Dillon’s first year his batting improved greatly towards the end of the season and he top scored in a few games and his bowling continued to improve throughout the season. Aiden Nowland – Aiden’s bowling was his strength this season with his unorthodox action he was hard to play, he went through a bad patch with the bat but really picked up in the last couple of innings. Kieran Ratnayake – Kieran tries his hardest every game and enjoys nothing more than when he hits a four or takes a wicket. His batting and bowling continue to improve, needs to concentrate on where he is pitching the bowl so it goes where he wants. Oscar Sultana – Oscar has had a great season with both bat and bowl. He really led the way with his fielding taking some classic catches, excellent ground fielding and his ability to hit to stumps a great

  • feature. Well done Oscar

Joshua Twadell – this was Joshua’s first season and he proved himself to be very talented. Joshua is a very stylish batsmen who plays on both side of the wicket, and his bowling is very accurate stump to stump. Matthew Whiting – this was Matty’s first season and he tried hard in every game he played. He gave 100% when he batted and bowled. In the field he was a great talker always encouraging the rest of the team. Joshua Wright – Joshua is a good left handed batsman who had a solid season with the bat, he is a very capable wicket keeper who moves well behind the stumps. His bowling was very handy throughout the season bowling good line and length. Overall it was a very enjoyable season with the boys winning more games than they lost finishing in the top 3 which was a great achievement. The boys had a lot of fun which was the main thing and hopefully they all will be back next season. Adam

I would like to thank all my under 10 RED colts for their hard work and dedication to the game this year. It has been a very humbling experience to watch these boys grow and change into young men who encourage and support each other in their wins and losses. We had 4 losses and a fantastic 12 wins making us finish in the top 3 teams! For some of these young men it has been their first taste of cricket and they went straight into a 4 hour match in 30+ degree heat. Mind you some of them are just turning 9 yrs now! They showed heart and respect on and off the field cheering and supporting their fellow team members. I also want to thank the parents and family members for taking their kids to training. Without the help

  • f some of the parents at training the boys all wouldn’t get to learn new skills and develop different

techniques. I am looking forward to next year where again we can show case our fantastic skills and abilities. Once again I am really proud of all my under 10 RED Colt. They have done themselves and their parents proud. Well Done Boys!!! Coach Mick Mee

I would like to start by thanking the people that made my job easier this year. I would like to thank our manager Belinda she was a massive support for not just me but the players and parents as well, a big thanks Belinda you have done an amazing job. Thank you to the parents for being a great support network for the team, with your help this year’s task was not so challenging. To all the players thank you for being supportive of me in my first year I enjoyed every minute of the time with you guys, we had some amazing highs and very small amount of lows in a season of redemption for the unlucky previous season for Liam, Brad, Cameron, Mitchell, Lachlan and Jack who all proved they could achieve great things. Congratulations boys for both your personal and team achievements, you all showed improvement throughout the season. This season we welcomed several new players, Shaun, James and Joel joined us from Blacktown and Thomas and Brittney made their cricketing debuts. Shaun and James not only provided the spark when needed but also provided encouragement for the

  • ther players. Both Shaun and James made the Under 12 reps team for PJCA this season. Well done
  • boys. Joel shows a tonne of potential and showed it at the back end of the season. Thomas playing his

first season was one of the biggest improvers with the ball and bat, being able to hold down an end, well done Thomas. Last but not least my daughter Brittney, playing her first season of cricket was not sure how she was going to go but she continued to surprise being the most improved this year. Brittney was also selected for the Mollie Dive girl’s rep team for PJCA. Due to her performance at the end of the season was selected to trial with the NSW academy squad. Well done Brittney. Every player had a fantastic season all contributing to the teams achievements. We were travelling 4th for 95% of the season but unfortunately a couple of losses at the back end of the season saw us miss the semis. Well done guys, hope to see all of you back next season. JUSTIN FELSCH (Captain) A very talented allrounder, with all the skills as shown by Justin's stats this year. His bowling and fielding were first class with his batting slightly down on previous years but I'm sure he will bounce back with the willow next year and dominate all facets of the game as is the norm for Justin. PATRICK HINDER Pat the Power Hinder was a sensation this year with his batting and bowling improving out of sight. The strength of Pat with the bat needs to be seen to be believed. He was in a class of his own as an allrounder this year and I can only see great things from Pat in the coming years. ASHLEY DAY Another very talented cricketer with all the skills and a very good cricket brain. Ashley was only dismissed once this year which is a great achievement. Her bowling had the opposition clutching at straws with her line and length usually spot on. I'm sure we will be seeing Ashley's name up in lights in the not too distant future. LOGAN MCILWAIN Logan did what he does best again this year and showed all comers how to bat with composure. Most of Logan's innings were chanceless with his shot selection a pleasure to watch. A great batting

  • brain. Logan also threw the arm over a couple of times times this year and would not look out of

place as a strike bowler. Loges was also solid behind the wicket as keeper. RYAN STARR Ryan had a good year with the ball with little luck as he has an uncanny knack of finding the edge of the bat consistently. His batting improved this year and will continue to do so with more time at the

  • crease. Ryan is always encouraging his team mates and will make a good leader one day.

MATTHEW THOMPSON Thomo is a young cricketer with loads of ability which does not always show in his stats. When on, his left arm bowling to right handers is almost unplayable. Thomo is also very capable with the bat and with some thought to shot selection his scores will increase dramatically. Thomo brought fun and laughter to the side which made coaching him very enjoyable. BLAKE WICKS Blake had another good year as usual with his bowling, but it was his batting that improved

  • immensely. Blake can now be called a genuine allrounder as his fielding is also top notch. Blake is an

integral part of the team as he is always keen and an enthusiastic trainer with a love of the game which will see him in go a long way. DANIEL STAFIDIS Daniel is the quiet achiever of the team with a wicked length & flight of bowling that dumbfounds some the best batters in the comp. Daniels batting frustrated many a good bowler with his knack of digging out the near perfect Yorker. Daniel's fielding will also continue to improve with more practice. DOMINIC SULLIVAN Dom is a young cricketer with the ability to progress to very good senior with hard work as he can bowl some of the most hostile bowling with his ability to get bounce off a good length. Dom's batting also improved as he respected his wicket more with some fighting innings.

CHRISTIAN BRYNES A debutant to cricket with an infectious love of the game that alone will stand him in good stead. A very sneaker bowler that gives the batsmen a false sense of security before unleashing the wicket taking ball. As a batsman he leaves nothing in the shed and gives his all. Christians fielding will improve with more games & coaching. BRANDON PAEPAEREI Our next debutant was a pocket dynamo with all the skills. With more game time & training Brandon has the ability to succeed at any level if he chooses to do so. His batting style has a Gilly feel to it with his crisp timing. Brandon's bowling and fielding was also at an above average level with more improvement to come. KYLE BEDFORD Another debutant who has all the skills of a more seasoned campaigner .Kyle is a very capable bowler with an unorthodox style which troubles a lot of good batsmen. Kyle is another batsmen that does not hold back and played some valuable innings this year. Kyle is a very talented young man and with more experience will only get better. A very enjoyable year with a disappointing finish, as I believe we were the strongest team in our

  • comp. Throughout the season proper, I believe we were consistently the best side with a team that

very rarely had our full complement of players on game day. With all excuses aside, we lost a couple

  • f games that we should have won which would have put us in a position where the weather would

not have affected our grand final aspirations. On a coaching level, I would like to thank ail the kids for making this, my first year of coaching a

  • pleasure. I would like to thank Karen, our manager for all her help during the year. I would also like

to thank Julie for being our number one scorer and Greg for being my go-to man. I would also like to thank Bruce for filling in at training and on game day when I was not available. Our 2012/13 season was always going to be a tough challenge with three very strong, long established teams in the 14/1’s and our team this season being a mix of existing colts players, players who transferred from other clubs and some new faces. The year started with some hard fought tussles, but the most noticeable thing was the way the team bonded together so quickly they trained and played together like a team that had been together for some years and that was the first sign that this would be an enjoyable season. Round 3 saw us against the eventual premiers Emu Plains with a depleted line up we bowled first with some great bowling from Jayden 1-6 and Joel 2-12, Emu declared and put us in and although we were just out righted with only minutes to go the effort from our batters needs to be congratulated with particular mention to Lachlan, Kobe and Dylan. Round 4 saw out first win for the season with some great batting from Rebecca, Daniel, and Kobe and an exciting quick fire innings from Jayden with a BIG 6. In round 6 we had one of our best games of the season ending up with us out righting Penrith RSL a massive turnaround from our loss to them earlier in the season. We batted first and saw some very good batting from Daniel 64 and Kobe 53, and then we excelled with the ball with some incredible figures

  • ver RSL’s two innings Jordan 2-4, Matthew 1-7, Joel 3-10, Lachlan 3-5 and Jayden 3-1. As each game

went by you could see the improvement of each player, confidence being the main difference. Unfortunately the semi final was a wash out so we didn’t get to smash Glenmore Park, there’s always next year guys. Overall it has been a great season and Craig & I are very fortunate to have such a great team. To all our players and their parents a big thank you, hope to see you all again next season. Alex Fenn – Once again Alex was our ever reliable wicket keeper doing a great job behind the stumps, he showed a lot of promise with the bat and that big innings isn’t too far away. His lively paced left arm bowling was a great attribute to our strong bowling line up. He is always active in the game and was great support for our less experienced players. Jordan Benitez – Jordan once again showed dynamic skills and enthusiasm in the field and is a great player to watch when he is at his best, he enjoyed a little bit of friendly banter with our opposition and always gives 100%. He had some really good moments through the year but his opening bowling spell against RSL was a definite highlight, setting us up for our outright win. Mitchell Brooks – Mitchells second year in cricket and what an improvement, both his batting and bowling showed more confidence this year, he was always one of the few players to put his hand up when we needed and opener and faced some of the competitions best bowlers with success. His bowling showed much more consistency and control and he listened well concentrating on line and

  • length. In the field he is very reliable and seems to find taking catches very easy.

Lachlan Saywell – Lachlan had a fantastic year and was our strike fast bowler, he showed great leadership qualities and always leads by example, his effort and determination in the field was inspirational and he was always putting pressure on the opposition batters with fast accurate throws from the outfield. Even when he broke his arm he still took the field and somehow managed to bowl, awesome season Lachlan.

slide-31
SLIDE 31

Dylan Ferguson – Dylan had a slow start to this season, with his bowling being a little below the form he would like. While the bowling started off slow his batting was great from the first game and stayed consistent throughout the season. Dylan had some great innings with the bat and figured in some fantastic partnerships. It was great to see the training and hard work that he put into his bowling throughout the year payoff with his form returning and his leg spin bowling back to its best, not only for

  • ur team but also for his Penrith rep side. Great season Dylan, hope you enjoyed your first one with the

Colts. Daniel Saywell – Daniel one of our best all-rounders in the team, no matter when we called upon Daniel he would always deliver with 100% commitment, he was one of our opening batsman and put together some fantastic partnerships facing top line bowling. His flighty spin often had our opposition bamboozled and his fielding is top class. Joel Boulter – Our top wicket taker for the season, Joel continues to baffle some of the best hitters in the competition with his late dropping, spin bowling. Joel struggled a little with the bat this season but showed more promise towards the end of the season, his fielding as always is very good a safe pair of hands and great throwing arm. Kobe Carroll – Kobe had a fantastic year with both bat and ball. It was his consistent form week in & week out that has earned Kobe this season’s best allrounder. He showed plenty of powerful and classy batting putting together some very strong innings. His accuracy in bowling is his strength not giving our

  • pposition any easy chances to put runs on and keeping them honest. He can always be relied upon in

the field and shares the leadership role well. Awesome season Kobe, I hope you enjoyed your first with the Colts. Brad Torda – This was Brads first season in cricket and he has improved so much across all areas of his game, he has a natural passion for the game and has fit into the team extremely well. One of my highlights of this season was watching the smile on Brad’s face each time he had success with either a great catch, shot or ball. Well done Brad. Matthew Byrnes – Once again through his enthusiasm and hard work Matty showed why he is such a valued member of this team. Matt’s great spirit and fun nature always brightens my day and our training

  • sessions. Matty always gives 100% and this year took some key wickets & hung in with the bat in some

crucial moments to help his team. It was a highlight of mine to see him play more games this season. Great work again this year buddy, I can’t wait to do it all again next season. Jayden Atuau – Wow can this kid hit a ball. This season Jayden was responsible for the most sixes hit in

  • ur side. The best way to describe Jayden’s season is to imagine it as a round of golf and the only club he

carried was a DRIVER. As much as it was great to see those sixes we need to work on his short game next season so he can spend a bit more time at the crease. Jayden also took one of the best catches of the season when the ball was hit at him like rocket. Not bad for a 12 year old playing in the 14-1s. Great work mate. Rebecca Minella – Bec missed a few games or innings this season due to rep cricket. When she was there her game was at its usual high standard with her scoring a heap of runs, line and length with the ball or hanging onto a catch. She formed a great opening partnership with Daniel and got our innings off to some great starts. Hope to see you back next season Bec. Craig Ferguson & Alex Fenn P.S. I would like to thank our team manager Craig, without his help this season would not have been as successful or enjoyable.

This year was yet again another impressive year all round for our young lads and Keira. We were once again elevated mid-season from 2nd division to 1st division. Despite the age disadvantage in division one, we managed to finish a hard fought 3rd at the end of the regular season leading into the semi-finals. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans for us with heavy rain ruining any chance of playing and winning the semis. That also meant we didn’t get the opportunity to have a crack at the competition leaders (Cranebrook) in the grand final. Perhaps next year kids! This year will also be remembered for the following achievements:  Jake, Jason, Kiera and Long all scoring half centuries  Paul, Jason and Jaimyn taking four wickets in a match  Every player taking more than two wickets  10 out 12 players with under 4 bowling economy  Jason and Long scoring their highest score in junior cricket and in the same game and both scoring 83  Taking three catches in match – Tim & Long (Twice)  Taking four catches in a match – Long  Jake, Keira, Jaimyn, Long, Christopher and Paul for being selected in PJCA representative teams  Christopher, Long and Paul being selected in the PJCA “Walter Taylor Shield” team travelling to Armidale this year and winning the title – only the second PJCA team to ever win this title  Jake for being selected in the Penrith Grade Green Shield team and the All- schools Sydney West team  Keira for being selected in the NSW U18 Girls team – and winning the Australian Championships – Great stuff Keira!  The best achievement of all – 11 young lads and one young lass playing as a team and enjoying their cricket Our scorecard this year was 4 from 4 wins in division two and 4 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses in division

  • ne. We scored 1908 runs and took 78 wickets overall.

I would especially like to thank all the kids Luke, Long, Paul, Jake, Jason, Aman, Keira, Chris, Brandon, Tim, Brad and Jaimyn for once again being a terrific bunch of kids, playing fair and giving their best week in and week out. Thank you to Michelle for managing the side and Brad for coming in late and picking up the scoring again this year – two years in a row and no “Duck Family” reunion! Thank you to Harris DeKretser for assisting me this year with the coaching. Last, but not least, thank you very much to the parents and grandparents for getting the kids to training & to the games, as well as supporting them all year. I hope next year we can come back and have one more shot at the title before the young lads and Keira head of to play with the big kids for good. Thank you and regards,

Paul Paul

In2Cricket

With the recent amalgamation of the Junior & Senior Clubs, In2cricket at the Colts had been relaunched. Our numbers were not huge this year due to our late start but the enthusiasm of more than made up for it. It was my goal to have the kids go home having learnt an additional cricketing skill. I am pleased to inform that according to Ms Zoe Moore objective has been reached, just ask her mum Belinda who got a full report after each session. A big thank you to the parents of Shyam Maddi, his talkative brother Venkat, Minhaal Mohammed, Zoe Moore, Nawfal Rahman & Darren Whiting for bringing their kids down to Lang Park each week. I would also like to thank Mitch Stevens (ex Colts Junior, current Colts Senior) & Jaimyn Skrypka (current Colts Junior) for their help with the kids, their time & efforts were much appreciated. Now that we are up and going again, registration can commence with Junior registration. So come on Colts get your younger siblings & friends sign up. John Sultana In2Cricket Coordinator

FOR THE RECORD

For the record this season has seen some big milestones achieved. Congratulations to Pat Yates for becoming the first player to in the clubs history to play 400 games for this great club in his 30 season in the green and red. It is a great achievement in longevity for Pat, he tells us that he thinks his grandson Bailey will knock him off. I would like to congratulate the following players for achieving milestones during this season.  Adam Coleman – 4500 runs  David Dunn – 2000 runs  Mitchell Stevens – 1000 runs  Dean Barber – 200 wickets  Les Harris – 100 wickets

This being the first season as a united club we are working on bringing the junior records up to

  • date. This is a huge undertaking and we will hopefully be able to produce some career stats for

the juniors next season. Hope to see everyone back next season. AC & Nicho
