PROJECT OVERVIEW

  • Construction has continued from last fall with noise wall installation.
  • There is still a little bit of work do be done on Phase 1D, specifically the

sidewalks, permanent striping, fences and seeding work. Replace the median on 156th St south in front of Fantasy’s.

  • Will close down Harrison Street again to through traffic. Reroute at 156th

Street and 144th Street similar to last year.

  • Will still maintain access to the area schools and local traffic only.
  • Phases 2 will begin this April (weather dependent) and Phase 3 is planned

to start in mid July with an anticipated completion by end of September. 4

CONSTRUCTION – Phase 2

  • Originally Phase 2 was broken into two smaller subphases, but in discussions

with the Contractor we have adjusted the boundary and combined the subphases.

  • This will allow more area for the contractor work and is anticipated to help

reduce the duration of construction.

  • Hard closures on Harrison Street at 154th and 150th

CONSTRUCTION – Phase 2

  • This will require some alternative routing to the Neihardt Elementary School.

Talk through routing plans.

  • Birchfield will need to go to 154th or 150th to access the school. The median

crossing at 154th will remain open during the phase 2 work.

  • Ped crossing area (not signal) at 150th to remain.
  • Temp access drive to 152nd south leg.
  • The side roads and associated driveways will be completed in 4 week periods, so

as to minimize disruptions. Will be notified prior to closures. 6

CONSTRUCTION – Phase 3

  • Phase 3 has also been adjusted to now include the 150th Street intersection,

and will focus on storm sewer, pavement, and the 148th St. signal.

  • Potential to reopen 150th St prior to school’s fall semester, and if weather

allows, save a full month off original construction schedule.

  • The hard closures will now be moved to 151st and 145th.
  • The new signal at 152nd Street will be operational and pedestrian crossing will

be moved to this location for school kids. Sidewalks will be in place to signal. 7
