1) National Register nominations are submitted to the Maryland Historical Trust 2) Eligible nominations are forwarded to the Certified Local Government (CLG) 3) The HPC makes a recommendation for or against listing to the NR based on whether the nomination meets NR criteria for eligibility 4) The HPC’s action is forwarded to the Chief Elected Officer (County Executive) via the CLG/NR Recommendation Form 5) Within 30 days, the CEO indicates their recommendation and forwards the completed Recommendation Form to MHT to complete the local review process
