According to the figures from the Mexican Institute of Social Securiy (IMSS), by the date of October 31st, 2017 there were 175,393 job positions registered in the state of Zacatecas. In the period from September 2016 to October 2017, there were 7,880 new jobs generated in the state, equivalent to a variation rate of 4.7%, in the mentioned period.

In the period from September 30th, 2016 to October 31st, 2017; the increase in formal employment was motivated by the legislative and government activities, justice procurement; and international
- rganizations, with 1,484 formal job positions.
In second place, there is the Construction sector, with 1,320 Jobs generated; in third place, Services for Companies and Households, with 1,284 new job positions.

contributing with 9.2% of the state GDP, and represents 34,982 formal job positions, which is equivalent in percentage to 19.9% and is the productive sector with more insured workers.
- The Commerce sector contributes with 12.5% of the state
