  • The Peterborough area has a chance to be a

national success story for affordable housing.

  • The Mount Community Centre offers a

unique opportunity to showcase how a community can come together to help increase affordable housing availability.

has been noticed around the country. We have spoken at conferences, been interviewed by researchers and other developers as far away as Calgary.

At Community Living Ontario, we talk about inspiring possibilities for people with an intellectual disability to live with dignity, to share in all elements

  • f living in the community, and to have the
  • pportunity to participate effectively…We endorse

this model as something that holds promise, not

  • nly for those who will live there, but for the many

who will see the possibilities and be inspired by it.

Peterborough’s Affordable Housing Future

  • In 2014 the Peterborough’s 10-Year

Housing & Homelessness Plan indicated a target of 500 new affordable units over 10 years.

  • The Mount Community Centre

working to provide 76 of those units in the 131,400 square foot main building.
