John
John is 79. He moved to the village of Crondall, in Hart, from London 10 years ago. Not long after moving, John’s wife became ill and he spent most of his time looking after her. His wife died a year ago and he has no family in the area; his three children and grandchildren live in
- London. He is still fairly fit and mobile for his age but does not drive any
- more. He does not use a computer.
John used to be very sociable and he loves sport and the
- theatre. Having been a full-time carer for so long, John tells you that he
now has no social life or friends. He only goes out to buy food for
- himself. He is feeling very lonely and isolated.
