Waterway Update

  • As of August Central Shires Waterway teams

& Partnership were absorbed into the neighbouring waterways,

  • By absorbing Central Shires into its

Fazeley closure

slide-14
SLIDE 14

Summary

  • The Trust has announced the closure of its Fazeley
  • ffice and a relocation to central Birmingham by 31

March 2017

  • The new Birmingham premises will not only be fit

for purpose but also in an easily accessible location close to Snow Street train station

14

slide-15
SLIDE 15

Why is this necessary?

  • Fazeley is in a residential area with poor transport links

and the building is in need of major investment

  • Birmingham sits at the centre of our network with

excellent transport links for staff and visitors and public transport links to other parts of the country

  • A prominent Birmingham base will give the Trust a

stronger regional identity and a greater presence in Britain’s ‘canal capital’

  • The new offices have the potential to be further

developed in the future to become a new national hub for the Trust
