Amber Cove – What’s in the Name?

• The 62-mile Puerto Plata Coastline was renamed the “Amber

Coast” by a Presidential Decree in the 1970’s- This is noted in CCL’s Press Release

• The Amber Mines in the region are some of the richest in the

world

• Dominican Amber is 90 percent clearer than others and has

10 times more insects than Baltic Amber

• Jurassic Park was partially filmed and loosely based upon the

unique features found in Amber stones from Puerto Plata region
