SJSRA Membership Groups

– Pay $30/year to support the club

• ELC Members

– Pay club membership as part of the overall cost ($40) of SJSRA-sponsored Entry Level Class

• Complementary Members

– Award winners from Referee of the Year Awards

• Rollover Members

– Members that joined late in the year and were granted full membership for the following year (no longer allowed)

Entry-Level Referee Program

• During the year, SJSRA sponsors ELC classes using

instructors from SJSRA (instructors are paid just like

• ther ELC classes)
• Students pay $40 to take the class which covers their

membership for SJSRA

– Cost to student is similar to other ELC classes – SJSRA provides IFAB Law Books for all students (extra bonus for attending SJSRA-sponsored class) – Classes offered early in the year offer same-year membership – Classes offered late in the year offer next-year membership (and includes a second Law book for the following year) – Students must attend an SJSRA session to obtain other members benefits (2nd Law Book, bag tag, coin, badge, etc.)

Referee of the Year Awards

• Each December, SJSRA hosts the

Referee of the Year Awards to allow local leagues to recognize their best referees

• We organize and arrange for the event

and speakers

• Local leagues reimburse SJSRA via a fee

collected for each award presented

Referee of the Year Awards

• For 2017:

– 16 Leagues participated – 67 individual referees were recognized – A team of 14 SJSRA club members organized the event – 200 people in attendance – Cake and cookies were served!

• All award recipients receive free

membership in SJSRA for 2018

Proposal for New Board Position(s)

• We want to add new co-chair positions called “Membership”
• Duties:

– Prepare the Sign-in lists for meetings (members & guests) – Accept member signups and distribute incentives – Following each meeting, update membership spreadsheet with new members and attendees – Requirements: Regular attendance, some familiarity with Google spreadsheets (and Excel?) – Time Required: 10-15 mins in advance, 15-30 min after
