A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE 9 TH GRADE • Study Skills are needed for 4 x 4 block schedule. Daily Homework is expected. • “Zeros” are Killers • Understand your GPA • On grade level literacy skills and math skills are a must. Teacher will have after school tutor hours (Tuesday and/or Thursday). • Classroom behavior and student choices impact learning. • You must pass your classes to be promoted.
DAILY SCHEDULE • School Begins at 7:25am and Ends at 2:18pm. • There are three lunch periods – students are assigned a lunch period based on third period. • The four classes are 90 minutes each. • Daily attendance is important. Be present and on time!

JR JROTC Frequently Asked Questions Is JROTC a class, or just an after-school activity? It’s an elective with many optional after-school opportunities What will I learn? History of Flight, Science of Flight, Leadership/Citizenship, marching, flag raising/lowering procedures, TEAMWORK, LEADERSHIP, RESPONSIBILITY Will I have to join the military? NO!!! Can it help me get into college? YES! 17 of our 19 seniors have already been admitted at NCSU, ECU, App State, and many others. Will it get me a scholarship? It can lead to military academy appointments or ROTC scholarships worth up to $200,000. You can even compete for a FREE private pilot’s license or thousands of dollars in other scholarships. Can women join? YES. We have 41 young women in our corps, including our corps commander and drill team deputy commander! What extra-curricular activities are offered? Camille Conzola, SAC President The SANDERSON ATHLETIC CLUB is the official boosters club for Sanderson High School. The purpose of the club is to support all of the athletic teams at Sanderson and to enhance the experience for all students who accept the challenge of interscholastic athletic competition.
