Appropriate Behavior Student Handbook Pg 15 My Commitment As a responsible and courteous Kent Ridgean, I, ___________________________________, will do my best to follow the school rules because they will help my classmates and me learn better. I understand that I must bear the consequences if I commit any offence. I am aware that the following are serious offences and punishments may take one or more forms including suspension and caning . The school may, at its discretion, report the offender to the police. Serious offences:  Possessing tobacco products, inhalants, harmful drugs or alcohol;  Smoking, glue sniffing or taking of harmful drugs;  Altering documents such as report books, medical certificates, deliberately submitting false information to the school or forging signatures;  Possessing knives, weapons or weapon-like items, publications of an undesirable nature and any other items which are harmful to the welfare of the student;  Defying and challenging authority of school staff;  Persistent latecoming, absenteeism and truancy from school;  Vandalism in any form;  Using foul language and being rude to members of the school community and the public;  Cheating in tests and examinations;  Stealing, extortion, gambling and other offences leading to police investigations;  Behaving in an unruly manner inside and/or outside school that could damage the reputation of the school.

Appropriate Behavior - Use of Handphones Handphones are to be switched off during: • curriculum time • school activities eg CCA, tutorials, enrichment programmes • If students are caught using handphones during these periods, the handphone will be confiscated and only returned to the student after 5 days .
