What Makes Us Special

Lauren Halstead, Head of School

  • Integrative curriculum that encourages creative thinking and is tailored to each student.
  • Personalization at every level. Children have the freedom to move ahead in areas they

have mastered, allowing for extra work and enrichment activities in subjects that need more time and attention.

  • Accommodation for students of all levels on learning spectrum. Our staff strives to

uncover the unique learning profile of each student and match that knowledge with

  • instruction. We introduce new concepts or skills only when children are ready. Our

students learn about English, math, social studies and science through exploration and discovery.

  • Focus on experiences, discussion and other activities to help students learn concepts

rather than filling students with pre-digested information

  • Gifted Program led by Gifted Endorsed/Certified faculty for parents who seek an

advanced curriculum for their children. Students who are selected for the program become well prepared for Gifted/IB programs at the secondary level.

We teach students how to think, not what to think. By allowing students to discover for themselves, we engage them in becoming independent thinkers.

Our Focus on Health & Wellness

Emily Vasquez, Director of Health & Wellness Collage is dedicated to promoting the health of

  • ur students. We are renovating the buildings

and outdoor spaces yo support our educational philosophy and provide students with hands-on experiences with nature. The School’s campus will be a beautiful outdoor learning environment with a myriad of natural features such as trails and pathways, gardens, play centers, koi ponds, and an inner courtyard that provides a common area and learning spaces for the Collage family to gather and socialize.

The Admissions Process

Sheila Tabassian, Director of Admissions

Applicants are considered on a rolling admission, when space is available. Collage Day School will assess your child based on individual strengths and challenges. The Enrollment Process includes the following steps: Step 1 Complete and submit the Application Form below. Step 2 Once we receive your completed Application Form, our Admissions Committee will determine if your child will be accepted or invited for a classroom visit. Step 3 If a classroom visit and observation are needed, the Admissions Committee will use all of the information we have collected about your child, including classroom space and dynamics, classroom visit observations and previous assessment data, if applicable, to determine the appropriateness of our program for your child. Step 4 The director of admissions will then confer with parents as to the admissions

  • decision. If the Admissions Committee has determined that your child will benefit from
  • ur program, the director or admissions will give you an Enrollment Packet to complete

and submit back to the school before your child starts attending Collage Day School.
