Tryout Dates Tryout Clinic: March 2, 4, 6; 4:00 pm* - 6:00 pm The Arena Tryout Clinic: March 3 & 5; 4:00 pm* - 6:00 pm Blue Gym Tryouts: March 6; 4:00 pm* - TBD, The Arena @ SFHS * Rising Freshmen expected arrival time: 4:45 pm Teams will be posted at the conclusion of tryouts on March 6, 2020 on the school cheerleading websites.   3. Eligibility ➢ We have Varsity and Sub Varsity cheerleading teams at SFHS. ➢ The program includes competitive cheerleading, football sideline, basketball sideline, and game day cheer. ➢ Teams will be determined based on interest and skill level at tryouts. Remind: Text @bgcfd3g to 81010

  4. Tryout Procedures ● Be on time and obtain tryout number each day upon arriving. ● Dress appropriately for cheerleading activities and secure hair away from the face, preferably wear a bow - no glitter! ● Students are not allowed to wear jewelry of any kind- necklaces, rings, earrings, nose-rings, bracelets, anklets, belly-ring, etc. ● Students are not allowed to participate with fingernails over GHSA regulation, artificial nails, or painted nails.   5. Tryout Procedures ● Everyone must wear solid black shorts and solid white top for the actual tryout March 6. ● An athlete picked up more than 15 minutes late from any tryout event will be cut from tryouts. Pickup should take place at the Arena entrance. ● Videotaping or the use of electronic devices during the try-out clinic and tryouts is prohibited. ● Try-out clinic and tryouts are closed sessions. SFHS Cheerleading Expectations ● Attend all choreography sessions. ● Participate in all fundraisers and community service activities. ● Maintain high academic standards and moral standards. ● Attend all games and practices. ● Participate in all pre/post-game activities and preparations. ● Participate in all playoff games regardless of holidays and All-star Cheerleading. ● Comply with All-star policy. ● Abide by Cheerleading Handbook and SFHS Student Handbook. If there are conflicts, the athlete should meet with the coach in person - in advance!

Parent Expectations ● Be a constant source of positivity and encouragement ● Participate in fundraisers set by the coach ● Homecoming Preparations & Pre-Game Meals ● Attend Games and Competitions ● Provide Transportation when needed ● Serve on committees/volunteer ● Follow the chain of command for communication We cannot continue to run a successful program without positive parent support and involvement!

Competition Estimated Expenses Varsity Competition Cheerleading Payment includes: Initial $750.00 due May 4 Uniform fee, booster dues, shoes, spirit gifts, practice attire, choreography camp, warm-up, *Made Payable to SF Cheer Booster with bows, etc. the athletes name in the memo line. Basketball Sideline Tentative Schedule ● ● March 7: SOFOPALOOZA Performance September: Practices begin ● ● TBD: Athlete/Parent Meeting, Payment due October 21: First Day for the Season ● ● April/May: Team meetings as scheduled October 24: SF Cheer Classic ● ● May 8: Big Creek Elementary SPRING FLING November 7: Region - Support comp! ● ● TBD: Spirit Camp November 13/14: Sectionals/State - Support comp! ● ● Plus, practice and team bonding as scheduled TBD: Thanksgiving Tournament ● by coach Early February: Region Tournament ● Late February: State Tournament ● Plus, community service events Spirit Cheerleaders in 11th and 12th grade will cheer for both Football and Basketball Sideline Cheerleading, with a schedule set by the Coaches. Varsity Lettering Policy includes academic and behavioral expectations as well as 90% attendance at all events including practices, games, and appearances.

We will continue to evaluate through the tryout process.
