Congressional District of Illinois.

  • Skill / Fitness: Must meet the medical, physical, and academic

requirements of the Academy

Two Step Application Process:

  • 1. Apply directly to service academy
  • 2. Apply for Nomination
  • All applicants to a service academy must have a nomination (except

US Coast Guard Academy)

  • Nominations may come from:
  • Member of U.S. House of Representatives who represents YOUR

congressional district

  • Either U.S. Senator from your state (Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth)
  • Applying directly to the Vice-President of the United States

  • Write a letter to Congressman Schneider about why you want to attend a

service academy

  • Signature of Applicant and Signature of Parent (if applicant is under 18)

All materials due by October 15th
