Role of Engagement in Research

Including patients and other healthcare stakeholders (e.g., caregivers, clinicians/providers, industry, payers/purchasers, and researchers) throughout the research process helps ensure that research is:

  • Focused on real-world questions that matter

to patients and other clinical care decision makers.

  • Transparent, so that results can be trusted.
  • Shared in ways that results are meaningful

and useful.
