Goals of Our Committee

Develop a School Performance Framework that is aligned to the common goal of ensuring every student has access to a high-quality, best fit school. Make a recommendation on whether VISD should participate in the Local Accountability System from TEA.

slide-20
SLIDE 20

What is a School Performance Framework?

The SPF creates a more holistic portrait of

  • ur schools that reflects community values.

The SPF will supplement the state’s accountability rating and provide a broader understanding of school performance based on Victoria’s definition

  • f a quality.

SPF acts as a report card for the school on the shared definition of quality.

The SPF provides a metric-based score card

  • f the community’s

shared definition of quality centered around equitable access for all students.

slide-21
SLIDE 21

Process of Developing the School Performance Framework

Identify Community Values

  • Quality School Thought Exchange

for students, staff, parents, and community

Develop Metrics to Measure Community Values

  • Identify domains of SPF that

describe the identified community values

  • Select 4-5 indicators to describe

each of the community values

  • Identify measures for each of the

indicators

  • Weight domains and indicators
  • Establish a floor and ceiling for

each indicator

Run an Initial SPF

  • Use current year’s data
  • Gather feedback from

principals and community to determine what worked well, what didn’t, and next steps

  • Revise Initial Draft SPF in

accordance with feedback

SPF Is Live for Pilot Year

  • No stakes first year
  • Designed to get baseline

information

  • Community will be able to

access SPF dashboards

  • Results from pilot year will

be utilized in a continuous improvement process to make future year’s School Performance Framework
