Why Choose the UK? (Continued)

Working alongside your studies:

  • Many students work part-time throughout their studies to earn extra money. If you are studying

with a Tier 4 (General) student visa, you may work part-time for up to 20 hours a week during term time and full-time in vacation time. You must demonstrate that you have sufficient finances and that you wish to work to gain experience.

  • Students often work in restaurants, bars, shops and call centres. British Study Centres can

help find part-time by means of their fortnightly Job Club, which assists students with a range of support such as CV-writing or interview skills.

  • Many universities also offer work experience, or even a year in industry, as part of the degree

programme itself, placing students in an excellent position to enter the job market upon graduation.

“Students who study their Foundation Year in the UK start to familiarise themselves with the life and culture here before they start their degree studies. This helps with everyday life and engaging with other students inside and outside of the classroom. They are also more familiar with the ways of teaching and learning which will later make their degree studies easier.”

“It is a very nice area to study – a very comfortable area to live and so close to the city

  • centre. The teachers are perfect and well experienced in dealing with students of all
  • nationalities. I took the IELTs exam and they prepared me excellently. The support team

are brilliant and offered me a great induction. I would recommend this school to other students from the Middle East because there are very few Arabic speakers – they all choose the city centre.”

  • Norah, Saudi Arabia (Current Student)

“Hampstead is a nice, residential area with everything you need, so it is easy to concentrate on your studies without the distractions of Central London! I have learnt so much already, even in just one month – it helps in the small classes. The school has a great atmosphere and both the teachers and reception staff are really friendly.
