“…industry ¡data ¡collected ¡for ¡2011 ¡-­‑ ¡2013 ¡suggests ¡that ¡less ¡than ¡one ¡ percent ¡of ¡excava-ons ¡preceded ¡by ¡a ¡one ¡call ¡no-fica-on ¡experience ¡ damages.” ¡ ¡ “Analysis ¡of ¡the ¡damages ¡reported ¡to ¡the ¡CGA’s ¡DIRT ¡database ¡for ¡2013 ¡ further ¡demonstrates ¡that ¡approximately ¡one-­‑quarter ¡(25%) ¡were ¡the ¡ result ¡of ¡the ¡failure ¡to ¡make ¡no-fica-on ¡prior ¡to ¡excava-on.” ¡ ¡ “…a ¡call ¡to ¡the ¡one ¡call ¡center ¡(811) ¡is ¡therefore ¡the ¡simplest ¡and ¡most ¡ effec-ve ¡means ¡to ¡reduce ¡or ¡eliminate ¡excava-on ¡related ¡underground ¡ u-lity ¡damages.” ¡
