TRASH TO TREASURE
History, Culture & Natural Environment
Trails not only connect us to the places we want to go, but they also serve as connections to our past and to the natural world around us. This corridor is rich with many items to highlight. We use interpretive kiosks to tell these stories. Additionally, we will be integrating public art into this corridor to further enhance the story telling component.
On-going Trail Management
The trail is now a part of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and they take over the on-going maintenance and management of the trail.
Installation of Public Art
We will be installing one large sculpture and 2-3 murals.
Next Trail Gaps on this Alignment
Connecting from Truman Elementary School east to the segment of trail built at Valley Water Mill. Connecting to Sac River Mtn. Bike Trails.

TRASH TO TREASURE
Working with the City of Springfield and Ozark Greenways to utilize part of the Fulbright Landfill Superfund Site as a recreational trail is a huge success and another example of how creative thinking and collaboration can turn an old landfill into a productive use for the community.
