Phases to Open School
This framework provides guidance on the level of in person instruction that can be accommodated based
- n circumstances associated with the health pandemic. Movement is fluid and dependent on health
- rders/guidelines. If Social Distancing is in place, the number of students that can be accommodated on a
school campus at one time is approximately 50%.

Safety Guidelines
Sanitation
➔ Hand sanitizer dispensers will be provided to classrooms that do not have sink stations for handwashing. ➔ Hand sanitizer units will be placed at common areas
- f the school
grounds. ➔ Disinfecting will be completed daily on high volume touch points throughout the campuses.
➔ Cleaning protocols to ensure proper disinfecting will be under ongoing review and modification as needed.
➔ Schools will limit the sharing of supplies between students and disinfect if sharing is unavoidable. ➔ YCUSD will monitor and encourage ventilation in all classrooms and
- ffices.
➔ Deep detailed cleaning and additional sanitation
- n days when
students are not present.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
➔ Parents are encouraged to provide facial coverings for their students. YCUSD will provide disposable facial coverings for staff and students if needed. Staff will be provided face shields to use if needed. ➔
Students TK-2 strongly encouraged to wear facial coverings. Grades 3 and up, as well as all staff, are required to wear facial coverings.
➔ Gloves available for use on campus where needed. ➔ Food handlers and health care staff will wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Health Screening
➔ Signage will be in place to remind the school community to not enter if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness.
➔ Passive wellness will be administered daily before students enter school. Families will be given guidelines for what to check prior to sending the student to school.
➔ Families will be encouraged to take temperatures daily before going to school.
➔ Anyone with fever of 100 degrees or higher may not go to a school site. If fever is experienced when already
- n campus, individuals will
be moved to the Isolation Room and sent home.
➔ Students and staff should also screen themselves for respiratory symptoms such as cough and shortness of breath prior to coming to school each
- day. Students and adults
experiencing those symptoms should not attend school.
➔ An Isolation Room is to be identified on each campus for students who fall ill and need to be sent home.
Social Distancing
➔ Social distancing signage will be in place on campuses. ➔ Physical barriers will be installed as determined by administration in high traffic areas on campus where social distancing is not possible, such as front offices. ➔ Classroom furniture/equipment will be arranged for social distancing to the greatest extent possible.
