  4. 12/20/2013 Toxco – Trail Operations Toxco operates a 42,000 sq ft facility on 11 acres. We are the only facility in the world that offers both primary and secondary (rechargeable) lithium battery recycling as well as the recycling of production scrap from the manufacturing of lithium and lithium ion batteries. Toxco utilizes patented technology to recycle spent batteries and produce lithium and cobalt bearing raw materials. 7 Toxco Battery Storage Bunkers 8 4

  5. 12/20/2013 Toxco Battery Storage Bunkers Toxco has 10 storage bunkers on site. These above ground bunkers are constructed of 10” thick concrete walls and roof. All are equipped with rate-of-rise temperature sensors which are monitored off site. The newest bunker constructed in 2010, has the additional feature of a “dry” sprinkler system. The control panel is situated adjacent to a fire hydrant. In the event of a fire, the system can be activated and the bunker flooded with water. This is state of the art. All batteries are stored in bunkers until processed. 9 Toxco Process Toxco’s process separates the components into a plastic and metallic fraction. The lithium dissolves into the process solution and is recovered as a >99% pure lithium carbonate . 10 5

These 63 pound batteries, which provided back up power for the Comcast Network, were replaced after four explosions in two years. 18 9

  10. 12/20/2013 Toxco Special Projects In 1997, Toxco was awarded a US Navy contract to recycle over 4,900 Minute Man Missile Silo batteries. This $10.5 million contract recycled over 2.7 million pounds of the largest lithium battery ever manufactured – 575 pounds. These were previously disposed of via open detonation. 19 Toxco Special Projects In 1998, Toxco was awarded a US Navy contract to recycle lithium torpedo power systems. These 45 pound units contained 11 pounds of lithium metal. 20 10

  11. 12/20/2013 Toxco Special Projects In 1999, Toxco was awarded a US Army contract to recycle over 1.6 million pounds of BA5590 batteries. This sole source contract was for batteries located at Tobyhanna Army Depot. 21 MILITARY APPLICATION BATTERIES 22 11

  12. 12/20/2013 Proposal to DRMS Battle Creek September 2007 Toxco offered a single point of coordination to ensure all military portable power batteries were properly secured, stored, shipped and either disposed of or recycled in accordance with all environmental standards and regulations. Two Options were presented: OPTION 1: Movement of all used batteries from Iraq to Toxco in the Canada for Recycling OPTION 2: Construction and placement of a portable treatment unit in Iraq to render batteries inert for local disposal Toxco continues direct discussions with US DRMO and DLA regarding batteries located in Iraq and Afghanistan. Toxco has also submitted proposals to in-country sub-contractors. 23 Al Asad, Iraq 12

  13. 12/20/2013 NATO Countries Two options have been identified: 1) Direct ship to Toxco. The challenge is obtaining the Trans Boundary approvals. Inquires have indicated possible routes via Pakistan to the Port of Newark, New Jersey, United States. 2) Repatriate the batteries. This option is straight forward as all countries involved are likely OECD or Basel Convention members with Competent Authorities and established shipping routes. 25 Turn Key Solutions • Acquisition of import and export permits • On site packaging, labeling, consolidation for shipment Logistic coordination including inland movement and • ocean freight • Environmentally sound recycling at a fully permitted facility. 26 13
