The Context – “Preproposal” within. Ø Kennis & Innovatie Contract (OCW/NWO – TNO – EZK/Topsectoren). Ø 200 Meuro in 2018/ 2019 for public private collaborations. Ø 160 for 9 Topsectors – 30MEuro for Chemistry. Ø 40 Meuro for “Cross-Over” – Cross Topsectoral. Ø Topsector Cross-Over Call

• 70% NWO, 30% private (50/50 Cash/ In-kind) – Max NWO 10 Meuro
• Need for representatives of the complete value chain
• Cross-over (linked to at least 2-3 Topsectors)
• Clear link to Societal Challenges
• Besides Academia, special attention to MKB, HBO, TNO and partners likely able to

Ø The “Sense of Sensing” (SoS) program focusses on

ü Development & Validation of (TRL 2-5 ~ 25% & TRL 5-9 ~ 75% R&D) novel sensing concepts ü Societal challenges related to the climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials, while reaching out to Health, wellbeing, food security, sustainable agriculture, marine and the bio-economy. Specific attention to “New technology Acceptance” ü SoS bridges, the roadmaps of the TKIs LSH, Chemistry, Agri & Food & HTSM.

üOvertuigd van de cross-over in dit voorstel binnen de technische disciplines. Ook is er een duidelijke en realistische cross over tussen HTSM, Chemistry, LSH & Agro & Food. Ook link met verschillende NWA routes. üPotentiële maatschappelijke en/of economische impact op de meest aanwezige maatschappelijke uitdaging in het onderzoeksvoorstel üHet is een goed georganiseerd onderzoeksvoorstel waarin sensing technologie voorop staat en geïntegreerd is in verschillende disciplines in relatie tot de gezondheid. üHet centraal stellen van sensing en betere detectie van moleculaire readouts met goedkope handzame technologie heeft in potentie een enorme impact in de genoemde gebieden.

üDe aanvragers geven een sterke en geloofwaardige samenvatting. Uit elke van de domeinen komen sterke mede-aanvragers met sterke wetenschappelijke CV’s. Op elk van de gebieden lijken de betrokken wetenschappers aan de top van hun vakgebied te staan. Een zeer goed en kundig consortium, waarbij de

• rganisatie en betrokkenheid goed is weergegeven. Ook is er ruime verwachte cofinanciering.

Advies van de beoordelingscommissie om “volledige aanvraag uit te werken en meer aandacht te geven voor de volgende aspecten:

ØHet is voor de beoordelingscommissie onduidelijk hoe de verschillende WP's met elkaar samenwerken en hoe de resultaten worden geïntegreerd. Het advies is om de samenhang tussen de WPs concreter te beschrijven in het uitgewerkte voorstel. ØHet voorstel verbindt verschillende topsectoren, maar als je kijkt naar de expertise van de partners, dan ligt de focus voornamelijk bij de topsector Chemie. Hoewel er wordt genoemd dat partners in design en social sciences betrokken worden, staat niet in het voorstel beschreven hoe dit zal gebeuren en zijn ze niet onderdeel van het

• consortium. Het advies is om het consortium uit te breiden met partners op deze gebieden. Het advies is ook om

de mate van crossover tussen deze verschillende gebieden te verduidelijken.
