HOW THE SMART PEN WORKS The Echo Smart Pen can be used with special notebooks to record sound together with what is written in the notebooks. The smart pen connects to a computer’s USB port, and the Livescribe software converts the recording into a pdf file with video and audio. Students can then play the pdf video to see and hear the mathematics explained, similar a blackboard or whiteboard.

THE SMART PEN AT ITS BEST… Students can click anywhere to start at any place on the page. The pdfs seem to work well on students’ computers and even their phones.

THE SMART PEN AT ITS WORST… Glitchy Extraneous marks Sometimes fails to record the audio Only allow one page recorded at a time Notebooks seem to exhaust their memory storage, even with many pages remaining

HOW THE IPEVO DOCUMENT CAMERA WORKS • A powerful tool, despite its tiny size • Can project any image under the camera • Can record the video and audio • Connects to a computer’s USB port • The Visualizer software converts the recording to an mp4 format.
