  2. Value is one of the basic elements of a painting and art. It refers to the lightness or darkness of a color, rather than the actual color or hue.

  3. Inside the art of value there is the feature colour. The artist will use the same colour in most cases but, they will use different shades of the colour. Another feature in value is emphasis. The main part of the some pieces of art is the emphasis. Using different shades of a colour and using different types of painting skills helps it make it look bigger in the painting or drawing. The last feature in value is space. There is space between the main part in the painting or picture. There is also space between the different shades and colours.

  4. Inside value there is space. There is space within the shades and main part of the painting. Inside value there is also the element intensity. It brings out the colours and different shaded areas in the work of art. Inside value there is darkness because darkness sometimes means the painting is trying to focus on sad darkness. Inside value there is also lightness. Sometimes the artist is trying to portray the idea of a warm, light feeling. Inside value there is colour. The art will have different shades or different colours to show value. The last element value has is emphasis. The emphasis is the main part of the work of art. For example: the man, in the painting the old guitarist.

  5. One of the principles is balance. There is balance within the shades and different colours. One more of the principles is movement. There is movement in with all the different shades and different colours all over the painting. One of the principles is pattern. There are patterns using the same shades in different places and the same colour over again in different places. Another principle is variety. There is a variety of shades and different colours. Most of the time there is more variety in the different shades. The last principle is emphasis. The different shades and colours bring out the emphasis in the main part of the painting.
