What we believe:

Standing out above the grim statistics of Australian educational inequality are Bright Spots Schools. They prove that change is possible by providing Australia’s most disadvantaged children with a high- quality education and hence the ability to access increased opportunities for a better life.

Working together with Australia’s leading educators, governments, businesses and community groups, the SVA Bright Spots Schools Connection will develop and deliver support programs for schools serving disadvantaged communities. The goal is to enable all low SES schools to become the powerhouses of opportunity that underprivileged kids need them to be.

“Fantastic – one of the best outcomes of my involvement with SVA and particularly Bright Spots has been the contact with other Principals and the sharing of stories. We simply do not get to hear the success stories from other schools often enough.”

“I gained a lot from the afternoon and evening as I trust SVA gained information to progress

  • programs. As mentioned at the meeting,
  • pportunities for leaders of schools to discuss

what makes them succeed are rare. Normally we get to talk about programs and their implementation or what the hierarchy wants done next – almost always a negative. From this meeting, I am looking to visit some of the schools with key staff in my school to broaden

  • ur knowledge and use their concepts to

strengthen practices at my school”
