OTHER THOUGHTS

  • Decisions about redevelopment of sub-areas will have long-ranging

impacts, with a single opportunity to get it right

  • Some questioned who initiated redevelopment of the racetrack…the

property owner or City?

  • While some were concerned with density, others saw this as an
  • pportunity for more-affordable/senior housing
  • Some saw recreation as an opportunity (fitness center)
  • Organizing principles suggested include: “placemaking,” “sustainability,”

“balance of economic, environmental, equity”
