  • On your notecard, make a list

SYLLABUS ANALYSIS

  • A discussion board assignment

is shown that asks students to post questions about the syllabus and respond to their classmates’ questions.

  • The instructor can monitor the

posts, correct any inaccuracies in the students’ answers, and provide answers as well.

  • The “Syllabus Analysis” Power of

Process assignment guides students through the reading process in order to help them annotate and analyze the syllabus.

  • At the end of the assignment, the

students are prompted to ask any questions that they still have. The instructor can respond to those questions in the comment section of the grading view.

Students are asked to reflect on themselves as students. The questions require them to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses as students and possible ways that they can ensure their own success.

  • Students find an article on growth mindset

from a reliable source. The link included in the instructions takes them to the San Jac library databases.

  • Using Power of Process, they’ll upload

their article and use the reading process to annotate and examine the article.

for reading and following instructions as well as basic computer skills that will benefit them in future classes.
