Supporting Reading Comprehension

Students should have a strategy for new vocabulary Introduce annotating early in the semester. Take time in INRW class to read out loud/discuss some of the readings for the credit course. Guide students through the annotating the first few times. Build prior knowledge by bringing in readings on the same topics they will be learning in credit class that are at a more accessible reading level. Introduce reading strategies like visualizing.
