London Permit Scheme
- The London Permit Scheme was introduced
in January 2010
- RBK adopted the scheme in March 2013
- A permit scheme gives the local authority
greater control over road and street works activities

Types of Permit
- There are 4 types of permit available to works promoters
- Major – Works over 10 days or require a closure, 3 month
lead in time
- Standard – Works between 4-10 days, 10 days lead in time
- Minor – Works between 1-3 days, 3 days lead in time
- Immediate – Works that cannot be delayed (Leaks etc)
- Lead in times should be followed, but early starts can be
given where it is reasonable to
