Changes - Improvements Problems - Difficulties Miscellaneous Summary
Changes - Improvements 1- Pneumatic Pin Crimpers installed (Operation at 8 Bar) 2- Bar Code Reader installed 3- New Crimping Tool installed coper pin on brass pin. Two altenatives : * special chock (tested over 100 end-plugs with no failure) * New Specialy designed instrument (see photo) under tests 4- Reinforcment of wiring Table next week (to not allow misalignments ) 5- Adjustable basis for clamps-crimpers next week (to facilitate cure of possible misalignments) 6- Wire Tension Measurement next 2 weeks on the wiring table 7- Electronic Transducers soon to replace micrometers for quality checks (automatic readout --> complete automatic input of data to database)
New tool for crimping coper pin on brass pin
Problems - Difficulties in the start of next BIS module 1- Spring groove too shallow by 0.3 mm Solution: deeeper machining of end-plugs 2- Brass Pin different hole diameter Solution: Change of tooling used for crimping 3- Step Motor Drive Failure for Wire Tensioning Solution: Tensioning with weights in fallback Station 5 (Quality of tensioning : see next figure)
Miscellaneous 46 boxes of tubes arrived - recived and stored with safety (Reliable procedure) Electronic setup for operating single tubes verified and operated (example : gas gain measurements see next figure)
Summary * 50 tubes reeady for QA/QC control New Important issues: end-plug machining spring characteristics * Wiring operating at 6 min per tube including quality tests not including endplug preparation * Wiring precedure very transparent (6 min achieved after 1 hour train of second operator) * Reliable fall back solutions exist for most of the wring operations
