Impact on PD

• The conduit tube will be installed in the APA side

tube aSer PD installa5on

– It will not be possible to insert or remove PDs once the conduit is installed – We have requested that conduit installa5on be delayed un5l aSer the cold-box tes5ng at the ITF. – The conduit tube will not be full of cables un5l the APA stack is built underground. It may be possible to remove the conduit underground if problems are found in pre-installa5on tes5ng

• This is a cri5cal area for the integra5on group to

play a roll and keep an eye on this!

Update on CE Test Stand Running

• New design PD cable connectors installed in CE test

stand APA

• Moun5ng rails for up to 4 Supercells (1 full module,

but split into 2 slots) in place

• MPPCs in hand. First spin of moun5ng PCBs also in
• hand. Second spin (small repair from V1) will be in

hand in ~ 2 weeks

• Mechanical design complete
• Filter plates for first 2 Supercells expected in August/

early September

• Schedule requires PD modules in mid to late October--

2 Supercells should be ready for the first run

Running plans for CE test stand

• We expect modified mu2e electronics and SSPs

will be compared in the run

– Funding for mu2e electronics s5ll cri5cal – Modified SSP (RJ-45 connectors, external HV) must be iden5fied for run

• We expect the first run will allow head-to-head

comparison of 2-sided ARAPUCA and X- ARAPUCAs

• Opportuni5es exist for scien5fic involvement in

the run (who is planning to analyze the results?)
