  • The consortium consists of Gwalia,

Cyrenians, SYSHP, Caer Las, YMCA and Cymorth Cymru.

  • The purpose of the consortium is to

provide a joined up business offer, promote project development and act as a focus for the social economy in Swansea. It also intends to provide a conduit for discussions with the City Council.

  • The group has existed for some time as a

place to exchange knowledge and

  • network. It is now in the process of

developing a joint operational plan.

  • Once the strategy is clear it is likely they

will form a company to manage their joint interests.

  • They are also anticipating changes to the

funding landscape and want to be proactive and prepared to respond to this.

  • They are considering a Memorandum of

Understanding as part of their planning – this will provide the ground rules for cooperation.
