ODP

  • Ozone layer depletion (ODP) is relative value that indicates the

potential of a technology to decrease ozone layer

  • The Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) defined as the ozone depletion

produced by a unit of the gas converted into ozone depletion values produced by the reference substance trichlorofluoromethane (CCl3F = CFC-11) is the meter which is used to assess the importance of the effect produced by the various gases

  • During incineration wastes for energy, power plant generate dioxins,

which have a negative impact on ozone layer

AP

  • Acid gases that are released into the air or resulting from the

reaction of non-acid components of the emissions are taken up by atmospheric precipitations and the falling “acid rain” forms an acid input which is absorbed by plants, soil and surface waters

  • The Acidification Potential is a meter of the disposition of a unit
  • f the mass of a component to release H+ protones, compared to

the reference substance SO2

Conclusion

  • In presented data from GaBi software we can see that Ozone

Depletion Potential of Slovakia is much lower than European Union avarage (EU27mix). The highes values are in biogas and waste.

  • In case of Acidification Potential Slovakia is above the EU
  • avarage. The biggest share of AP is in technologies burning fossil

fuels followed by biogas and biomas.
