Community Involvement
DEMUCKING CHALLENGES: Northern half of Right-of-Way needs to be demucked up to 12’ deep, adjacent to existing roadway. Verify Cores AB-5 (10’), versus MD-7 A to F (less than 5’) SOLUTIONS: CPC will coordinate pre-activity meetings with Contractor and Geotech Engineer to confirm limits of demucking. CPC will perform ground survey in-house.
CHALLENGES: Phase1: Install erosion control devices and construct North Wall. Close proximity to FPL overhead powerline will require coordination. Phase 2: Construct work on North side. Phase 3: Construct work on South side. Phase 4: Center of Roadway. Phase 5: Milling & Resurfacing. Phase 6: Thermoplastic Pavement. Markings. SOLUTIONS: Proactive Coordination. TCP by Contractor for approval by County
CONSTRUCTING NEW DRAINAGE CHALLENGES: Constructing new drainage structures and pipe with existing utilities in close
verification at several locations. SOLUTIONS: CPC will coordinate with the Contractor to perform pre-trenching at potential conflicts.
LOCAL AGENCIES CHALLENGES: Ensure that proper permits are
with the City of Miramar, City of Pembroke Pines and South Broward Drainage District. (Wall and TCP) SOLUTIONS: CPC currently has a close working relationship with all local agencies and will coordinate with Contractor during all preconstruction meetings, inspections, testing, as-builts and closeout.
EROSION CONTROL CHALLENGES: Ensure that proper maintenance of Sediment and Erosion Control is being performed by contractor. SOLUTIONS: CPC will closely review plans and have
sediment and erosion control system including monitoring the turbidity readings.
AVOIDING COMPLAINTS CHALLENGES: Minimizing complaints from adjacent residents in close proximity. SOLUTIONS: Advance notification to adjacent residents and others.
LOCAL AGENCIES & HOA’S CHALLENGES: Existing landscaping and irrigation maintained by HOA’s. New installation of landscape in medians will be maintained by the City
SOLUTIONS: CPC will closely coordinate landscaping and irrigation construction with stakeholders, HOA’s, City of Miramar and the City of Pembroke Pines.
