NON-Eoc courses- how to earn credit

✘ Each time you pass a class for the semester, which is half of

a year, you earn half of a credit.

✘ You take 7 classes each semester; so if you pass each class,

you can earn 3.5 credits for each semester which means 7 credits for the year.

SEMESTER GRADES- HOW TO EARN CREDIT

✘ The semester grade is determined by adding up the two 9-weeks grades plus the exam. 1st Quarter grade (40%) + 2nd Quarter grade (40%) + Semester exam (20%) Semester grade (100%) ✘ Remember the “pass 2 out of 3 rule” to earn credit!

Eoc courses- how to earn credit

✘ Each of the four quarters and the midterm exam will be 70%

  • f the final course grade. The EOC will be the other 30%.

✘ ✘ All EOC courses are year-long courses with 1.0 credit

  • awarded. EOC courses include Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology

and US History.

1. Go to Grade 9 Course Selection Form 2. Please read through the entire form and follow all directions. You will only be able to submit once. 3. Complete all information in the appropriate boxes. 4. Begin selecting 1 class for each of 4 core academic areas. 5. Choose 5 desired elective courses. 6. When completed, click submit. You will receive a copy of your requests. Reminder: Elective course selections are based on availability.
