Goal setting gives us a clear idea of what it is we want. When we set goals, we are putting a plan into place for our future. Goals help us believe in ourselves and gives us the inspiration to aim for things we never thought possible. Goal setting makes us accountable. When we put it in writing, we have to take action to complete it.
People who want to be successful set goals. Goals provide a sense of focus and direction.
SMART Goals

Talk to your child about their dreams and their future plans. Put the goals in writing. Set “just right” goals. Set goals with time limits. Make an action plan to accomplish the goals. Encourage your child to stick with it! Goals aren’t always achieved the first time. Help your child to understand there may be some setbacks, but it doesn’t mean to give up. Keep them accountable for their goals. Set goals for yourself.
