daily as well as attending on time.

  • School begins promptly at

7:30 a.m. with a bell.

  • Passing periods are five
  • minutes. Plan accordingly.

Excused Absences

  • Parents must excuse an absence within two days by

written note or email. Your parents may call 693- 4442, but a note or email is still required.

  • Reasons include, but are not limited to, illness,
  • bservance of religious holiday, death in immediate

family, and college visits (up to 5 days).

  • Students are responsible for making up work

within the time limits established by school personnel.

  • Contact your assistant principal in a timely fashion

if you have questions or concerns.

Unexcused Absences

  • Absences without parent authorization or for

reasons that do not qualify as excused are unexcused.

  • Students with more than 5 absences in a grading

period, including unexcused absences and suspensions, are subject to an “F” for that grading period.

  • Students with more than 10 absences in a semester,

including unexcused absences and suspensions, will not receive credit for the course.

  • Important Note: If you are tardy to class more than

10 minutes, you are marked as an unexcused

  • absence. This can impact your grades and credits.

Tardy

  • A student is tardy when he or she is not in the

classroom door when the bell finishes ringing.

  • Any student arriving after the bell will earn a

disciplinary referral and 25 demerits.

Tardy to School

  • If you arrive late to school (less than 10 min.),

proceed immediately to your locker and to class.

  • If you arrive at or after 7:40, you must see
  • Mrs. Daugherty, room 128, for a pass to class.

Tardy to Class

  • Proceed immediately to class.
  • If you arrive to class excessively late (10 or

more minutes), you will earn an unexcused absence and a class cut referral resulting in 50 demerits.

Arrival –

  • All buses will drop students off

directly in the front of the building. Students will immediately enter the building and proceed to the terrazzo or cafeteria until 7:15 a.m. Dismissal –

  • All buses load in the back of the
  • building. Students who ride the

bus will exit the building through the 300 hall exit and immediately board buses. Buses leave promptly at 2:40 p.m.

Arrival and Dismissal

  • Car traffic will enter the parking

lot off of Northmoor Rd.

  • If you turn into the lane

nearest University, you will proceed out to University

  • n the right.
  • If you enter the middle or

far turn lane, you will proceed to the left and exit left to Northmoor Rd.

  • During dismissal, no cars may

access the back of the building.

  • For everyone’s safety, no cars

may drive under the overhang to the front of the building.

What can you wear:

Hair – Clean, tied back with hair tie headband or barrette. Pants – Jeans, khakis, sweats or athletic pants at waist level

Shorts – Denim, khaki, athletic material

Must be worn at or just below the waist and no more than 2 inches above knee

Skirts & Dresses – Any fabric as long as they are worn no more than 2 inches above the knee. Shirts/ Tops – T-shirts, polo's, button-down, blouses, sweaters, sweatshirts, and turtlenecks.

Jewelry – Earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc. As long as they don’t pose any safety risk.

Discipline Procedures

1. Student will be respectfully informed that they are not dressed appropriately. They will be asked if they have a change of clothes or item of clothing to resolve the situation. 2. If they do not, they will be sent to the Assistant Principal’s Office Room 179 with their agenda signed and time stamped. 3. We will then address the issue accordingly.

Violation Progression

  • The student will be informed of the

dress code violation by the classroom teacher

  • Classroom teacher will direct student

to the assistant principal’s

  • ffice and enter violation into skyward.
  • Student will be directed to correct the violation by

changing into clothes at school and calling to inform a parent and/or have them come pick them up and take them home to change into appropriate dress.

School Building Hours: 7:00- 2:45

hallways with lockers before 7:15 or in the building after 2:45 without supervision
