Concept :

Minerve’s anaesthesia workstation are devices designed to ensure a safe and controlled working area to perform anesthesia on smalls animals with the aim of adapting to the different constraints of installation and use in a laboratory environment

The different versions available can meet the majority of user needs, the trays are interchangeable to ensure different configuration possibilities.

The input gases are combined to produce a carrier gas, this gaseous mixture is sent to the vaporizer to be loaded with anesthetic agent. Then it’s distributed to each accessories channels that control activation, concentrations and utilization rates independantly. The central aspiration system captures and filters the anesthetic agents through an integrated activated carbon cartridge. It is also possible not to use internal activated carbon cartridges and return the stale air to a suitable reprocessing system (cartridges or HVAC system)

These parameters are personalized according to each user and are stored at the time of extinction, they are restored at startup, after identification of the user to create real programs adapted to each protocol.

Functionality details :

(1) Set the concentration of anaesthesic agent The submenu "gas mixture" allows to simply define the type of carrier gas desired, to control the inlet pressure, as well as the internal pressure of the system . (2) Parameters and real-time contrôle of the flow A system of quick shortcuts makes possible to define 3 favorite values for the following parameters: Flow rate, concentration and the set temperature for the surgical plans/ heating plates. A system of automatic detection of the connected accessory (cage or mask) allows to optimize the consumption of the anesthetic gas and informs the user of the status of each accessory (mask

• ccupied, waiting, cage open, cage saturated ... ).

Détails of extraction system : A high-capacity activated carbon filter ensures the capture and neutralization of residual anesthesics agents. A pre-filter and / or HEPA FILTER is avaible as an alternative to the active carbon filter and can be used when the table is connected to the laboratory’s air handling system, in accordance with the specific health and environmental constraints associated with the location installation. The suction flow is enslaved to ensure a constant efficienty of the extraction system regardless of the filter level of clogging by particles The extraction system is soundproofed in order to guarantee users first-class comfort (sound level below 40 Db) The extraction speed can be set manually by the user on the touch interface, from 50% to 100%. For obvious safety reasons, it’s impossible to set a value lower than 50%. Real-time measurements are carried out in order to display on the touch interface the bars indicating the condition of the clogging of the prefilter and the saturation state of the carbon filter allowing the user to carry out continuously a diagnosis of the good state

10 Filling vaporizer wizard : The "anesthesia filling" wizard has been developed to ensure that the user is not exposed during the filling phase of the vaporizer due to the presence of residual pressure when the latter is opened. In fact, even an ISOTEC7 type vaporizer can not contain the residual pressure during the filling phases. This wizard ensures that the system pressure has dropped to 0mb before asking the user to open the evaporator to fill.

System alarms : The operating system of the SIGMA 70 permanently monitors all the parameters related to anesthesia, with the aim of guaranteeing maximum user safety while optimizing the consumption of halogenated agents. Below is a list of the checks performed by the table in real time:

• Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 external
• Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 internal (concentrator and Hf air pump)
• Extraction flows
• Clogging condition of the hepa pre-filter
• Saturation state of the activated carbon filter
• Anesthesia output flow value corresponds to the set value (On all outputs)
• Internal system pressure

In the event of an anomaly, the system indicates this to the user by an audible and visual alarm, and records the fault in the history of faults encountered. Example of an inlet gas pressure anomaly 1:

Surgical mask for Rat/Mouse :

INOX surgical mask with coaxial suction. The muzzle of the animal is surrounded by a silicone membrane to limit isoflurane leakage, and release the maximum space at the head, the surplus is redirected to the extraction system through the suction located on the outskirts. The mask is adjustable in height to fit the best according to the position of the animal (back, belly, side). Compatible with disinfection / decontamination cycles using an autoclave, nebulization / vaporization H2O2 and spray products (bactinyl, Virkon etc ...).

Mask support for anesthesia table:

The support consists of two columns for fixing and adjusting the height of the mask on the suction plate. The spacing between the columns is identical to that of the bores of the plate, thus allowing a positioning chosen on the entirety of its surface Compatible with cycles of disinfection / decontamination using an autoclave (bactinyl, Virkon etc ...)

Optical detector presence rat / mouse mask:

The presence of the animal on the anesthetic mask is performed without contact by an infrared type optical detector. It is equipped with a green led to ensure a visual check of the flow status (Flashing: Off / On: sending in progress) The detector attaches directly to the mask, the anesthesia table automatically detects if the accessory is connected and automatically adapts the operating mode (connected: automatic / not connected manual). Compatible with decontamination cycle nebulization / vaporization H2o2 and spray products (bactinyl, Virkon etc ...). Not compatible with cycles of disinfection / decontamination using an autoclave.

Each outlet is equipped with an independent manual shut-off valve to shut off the supply of anesthetic mixture independently. The main advantage of this ramp is the use of a single gas outlet and avoid the multiplication of anesthesia circuits on the workspace; it must be fixed on a perforated tray by means of dedicated mask holders. The aspiration of the tray ensures the aspiration of all residual anesthetics. Multi-mask support for Rat or Mouse: Masks of anesthesia big animals: Allows to maintain under anesthesia animals type: Rabbit, guinea pig, obese rodents etc ... The size of the silicone membrane located can be customized according to the needs. Compatible with cycles of disinfection / decontamination using nebulisation / vaporization H2o2 and spray products (bactinyl, Virkon etc ...).

Cleats Allow to ensure an optimal contention of the animals on the anesthesia table and to prevent any uncontrolled movement during the practice of the surgical acts.

The development of an "overflow" type induction cage has been guided by the need to perform, under enhanced safety conditions, successive inductions of gaseous anesthetic agents.

• A laminar flow continuously captures the emanations of pollutants, eliminating the

waiting step imposed during the emptying before opening a conventional induction box. The access hatch can be opened and closed at any time during the phases of insertion and removal of the animal safely. Since a large part of the halogenated gases is conserved between each cycle, consumption

• f the anesthetic agent is greatly reduced, especially in the case of inductions carried out in

series.

• When the system is no longer used, opening the hatch will empty the cage in a few seconds
• During the filling phases of the evaporator, the filling adapter can be mounted on the bottle

by positioning the bottle in the cage in order to benefit from the protection of the suction laminar flow.

Secure induction cage:

15 Automatic detector state induction cage: A magnetic sensor detects the opening and closing of the induction box and controls the sending of the gases. A green light informs the user whether the gas is being sent to the cage; it lights up continuously when the lid is closed (sending gas into the cage); It flashes when the cage is open or when it is saturated with anesthetic agent (interruption of the sending of the gas)

Removable partition wall:

It divides the cage volume by two for inductions requiring the treatment of animals in small quantities.

Self regulated cage support:

Auto regulated at 35.5 degrees, it allows to limit the decrease of the temperature of the animals during the phases of induction. The induction cage is compatible with cycles of disinfection / decontamination by autoclave, nebulization / vaporization H2o2 or other products with more targeted actions usable by spraying (such as bactinyl, Virkon etc ...).
