  6. Principle of operation : The input gases are combined to produce a carrier gas, this gaseous mixture is sent to the vaporizer to be loaded with anesthetic agent. Then it’s distributed to each accessories channels that control activation , concentrations and utilization rates independantly . The central aspiration system captures and filters the anesthetic agents through an integrated activated carbon cartridge . It is also possible not to use internal activated carbon cartridges and return the stale air to a suitable reprocessing system (cartridges or HVAC system) 6

Functionality details : (1) Set the concentration of anaesthesic agent The submenu "gas mixture" allows to simply define the type of carrier gas desired, to control the inlet pressure, as well as the internal pressure of the system . (2) Parameters and real-time contrôle of the flow A system of quick shortcuts makes possible to define 3 favorite values for the following parameters: Flow rate, concentration and the set temperature for the surgical plans/ heating plates. (3) Automatic detection of accessory type A system of automatic detection of the connected accessory (cage or mask) allows to optimize the consumption of the anesthetic gas and informs the user of the status of each accessory (mask occupied, waiting, cage open, cage saturated ... ). 8

  9. Elements and security routines : Détails of extraction system : A high-capacity activated carbon filter ensures the capture and neutralization of residual anesthesics agents. A pre-filter and / or HEPA FILTER is avaible as an alternative to the active carbon filter and can be used when the table is connected to the laboratory’s air handling system, in accordance with the specific health and environmental constraints associated with the location installation. The suction flow is enslaved to ensure a constant efficienty of the extraction system regardless of the filter level of clogging by particles The extraction system is soundproofed in order to guarantee users first-class comfort (sound level below 40 Db) The extraction speed can be set manually by the user on the touch interface, from 50% to 100% . For obvious safety reasons, it’s impossible to set a value lower than 50%. Real-time measurements are carried out in order to display on the touch interface the bars indicating the condition of the clogging of the prefilter and the saturation state of the carbon filter allowing the user to carry out continuously a diagnosis of the good state of operation of the extraction system of the anesthesia table 9

Elements and security routines Filling vaporizer wizard : The " anesthesia filling" wizard has been developed to ensure that the user is not exposed during the filling phase of the vaporizer due to the presence of residual pressure when the latter is opened. In fact, even an ISOTEC7 type vaporizer can not contain the residual pressure during the filling phases. This wizard ensures that the system pressure has dropped to 0mb before asking the user to open the evaporator to fill. 10

Elements and security routines : System alarms : The operating system of the SIGMA 70 permanently monitors all the parameters related to anesthesia, with the aim of guaranteeing maximum user safety while optimizing the consumption of halogenated agents. Below is a list of the checks performed by the table in real time: - Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 external - Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 internal (concentrator and Hf air pump) - Extraction flows - Clogging condition of the hepa pre-filter - Saturation state of the activated carbon filter - Anesthesia output flow value corresponds to the set value (On all outputs) - Internal system pressure In the event of an anomaly, the system indicates this to the user by an audible and visual alarm, and records the fault in the history of faults encountered.   12. Avaible accessories : Surgical mask for Rat/Mouse : INOX surgical mask with coaxial suction. The mask is adjustable in height to fit the best according to the position of the animal (back, belly, side). Compatible with disinfection / decontamination cycles using an autoclave, nebulization / vaporization H2O2 and spray products (bactinyl, Virkon etc ...). Each outlet is equipped with an independent manual shut-off valve to shut off the supply of anesthetic mixture independently. The main advantage of this ramp is the use of a single gas outlet and avoid the multiplication of anesthesia circuits on the workspace; it must be fixed on a perforated tray by means of dedicated mask holders.
