F I N D I N G S R E CO M M E N DAT I O N S L I M I TAT I O N S APP DESIGN: CANVAS/CONNECT/SIS 4 Access to Canvas and its functions is the most demanded function of the SFU offjcial app, although integration of all 3 core functions (Canvas, Connect, and SIS/gosfu) is demanded in balance with privacy and security concerns.

F I N D I N G S R E CO M M E N DAT I O N S L I M I TAT I O N S APP DESIGN: PARTIAL INTEGRATION OF CANVAS, 1 CONNECT, SIS/GO SFU W H Y: • The SFU Offjcial App team has limitations due to privacy policies and security concerns, so at this time, full integration of Canvas, Connect and SIS/go sfu poses many issues and lack of resources • SFU students also show concern over how information is stored on the SFU Offjcial App, so there cannot be compromises in order to reach full integration • Therefore, partial integration is recommended with Canvas being priority since its functions are the most demanded H O W: Integrate the top 5 (or top 3 if not possible) must-have features of Canvas fjrst: • Access to assignment grade/feedback (70.8%) • Reminder of due dates (67.7%) • Access to course syllabus (63.6%) • Access to course modules (60%) • Course announcements (54.9%) and continue to integrate aspects of Connect and SIS/go sfu into the SFU Offjcial App without violating SFU’s privacy and security policies.
