Background • Business Process Reengineering(BPR) project started in 2014 • Board Commissioned SITA to map all business processes with the intention to assist refine and streamline functions • Outputs of BPR project were: • “ AS-IS ” process mappings • “ TO-BE ” maps with system functional specifications • Next step was to develop and implement the new system • SITA were once again appointed to facilitate the process • Giving rise to Project JIKA • Phased in approach • 18 Months project for development and implementation 2

  3. Background There was an urgent need to automate all back-end business processes. The Board is therefore, elevating the interaction between the Gaming and Betting Industry with the Board to the next level in terms of electronic information management. The Gambling Regulator Online Portal, or Project JIKA has arrived. The system will address the backlogs and save the licensee time and effort when processing their applications. The on-line portal will enable licensees to submit applications as well as other required transactions, as well as make related payments on-line. 3

  4. Features of New System • Providing an “e - File” which is a one -stop, integrated record of all the transactions and history for a particular KZNGBB client; • Automating the core operations of KZNGBB, specifically: Licencing, Registration and Law Enforcement; • Gaming Monitoring and Control; and Betting Monitoring and Control. 4

Features of New System (continued) • Automating the processes to receive, validate, investigate and approve applications, including automation of issuing of licences and certificates; • Automating priority services in the offices of the CEO, CFO and Company Secretariat; • Providing automated standard and ad-hoc reports for: Provincial Treasury reporting; Portfolio committee reporting; • Key Performance Indicators/Technical Indicators reporting 5

Important Issues of new online Portal • System built with K2 Blackpearl and Smartforms technology connected to a SQL database backend • Servers will be hosted within the entity’s datacentre • Secure access to the portal - SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology will be used to establish an encrypted link between a server and a web client 9
