Policy Committee Chair and Vice Chair Election

• Kelly Lockhart (Coles County) has graciously offered to

step up as the new Policy Chair.

Policy Committee Vacancies

• DeWitt County has not had a representative for years.
• Edgar County has not had a representative for years.
• Clark County needs a new representative.
• Vermilion County needs a new representative.

2018 Region 8 Meeting Schedule

• March 15th at Piattran (Monticello)
• June 21st at the Arcola Center (Douglas)
• September 20 at the LifeSpan Center (Coles)
• December 13th at Macon Resources (Macon)

2018 Proxy Forms

• Limit to two proxy representatives.
• If at all possible, someone from the same organization.
• Please turn in proxy forms by the end of January

2017 Baseline Data

• Collecting data for calendar year 2017.
• Please submit your data as soon as possible.
• Next week, instructions will be sent via email.
• Please communicate with the Coordinator if there are

difficulties with this.

Moving Forward

Goal 1: Promote awareness of transportation options.

• Identify areas of low ridership where need is present,

and market existing transportation services to the general public in those areas.

• Marketing checklists
• Marketing campaigns
• If there are pockets of low ridership in your service area

that you would like help reaching, contact the HSTP coordinator.

Goal 2: Improve and increase availability of transportation services.

• Survey major employers and unemployment centers to

determine unmet employment transportation needs.

• Survey major senior centers in each county to

determine unmet senior population needs.

• Survey users of public transit and human service

transportation to gauge unmet needs and opportunities for improvement.

• Send Coordinator survey results from surveys collected in 2017.

Goal 3: Improve user experience and usability by addressing barriers.

• Post ECIHSTP Travel Training Video to websites.
• Need to add captions for accessibility.
• Seek interested groups to participate in on-site travel

trainings.

• Send any suggestions to the Coordinator.
• Adapt guides and other material for large print,

alternate languages, and screen readers.

Goal 4: Strengthen coordination of transportation services and processes.

• Hold at least four coordinated events per year to

establish a streamlined gateway to maintenance and training.

• RTAC trainings; managed care forums
• Semi-annual maintenance forum to discuss best practices,

common issues, experiences, and recommendations

• Gain/expand ten service contracts throughout the

region by 2020.

• When a new service contract is initiated, or an existing contract

is significantly expanded, notify the Coordinator.
