Sponsor: City of Burlington Project: Agency Street Reconstruction – Melrose to Curran

  • Full-depth road replacement for 2,400-foot section of

Agency Street on west side of Burlington

  • Arterial street connecting Downtown Burlington with

Roosevelt Avenue & West Burlington retail areas, SCC, Great River Medical Center

  • Will begin where the recent $4 million Agency Street

Widening Project ended (from HyVee west to ABB)

  • Involves pedestrian upgrades – new sideway on north

side of Agency, and new ADA compliant crosswalks

  • Replace old, outdated storm sewer infrastructure to

improve drainage along the roadway Total Cost: $1,597,523.44 STBG Requested: $1,278,018.75 Local Share: $319,504.69 (20%)

Sponsor: City of Burlington Project: Burlington Urban Service Medium Duty Bus Purchase

  • BUS is a public transit service operated by the

City of Burlington Dept. of Public Works, serving the Greater Burlington area

  • Replacement of one bus for the BUS fleet
  • The fleet currently contains 14 buses
  • 10 of the buses are past their useful life, but

not scheduled for replacement Total Cost: $120,000 STBG Requested: $96,000 Local Share: $24,000 (20%)

Sponsor: City of Fort Madison Project: Business 61 (Highway 2) and 53rd Street Intersection Project

  • Replacement of a presently signalized intersection

with a roundabout

  • Far west side of Fort Madison, at the primary

entrance to Fort Madison Community Hospital

  • Will improve traffic flow and safety at the

intersection, which presently does not have left turn lanes, and requires a ‘split-phase’ signal

  • Convert to 3 lanes west of intersection, leave as 4

lanes to the east

  • Transfer of jurisdiction from DOT to the City – DOT
  • bligated monies to the City for future roadway

improvements along former US Highway 61 Total Cost: $840,000 STBG Requested: $420,000 Local Share: $420,000 (50%)

Sponsor: City of Mount Pleasant Co-Sponsor: Henry County Project: Winfield Avenue – Broadway to Grand

  • Reconstruct 0.7 miles of Winfield Avenue at

the northern edge of Mount Pleasant

  • Pavement in poor condition; portions have

narrow shoulders and deep ditches

  • Includes a parallel section of multi-use trail,

and pavement of an additional trail segment along Grand Avenue

  • Currently no sidewalks along Winfield
  • Trail would connect into existing trail

system on the east side of the City Total Cost: $2,397,260 STBG Requested: $1,500,000 Local Share: $897,260 (37%)

Sponsor: Southeast Iowa Bus (SEIBUS) Project: SEIBUS Light Duty Bus Purchase

  • SEIBUS is the regional transit provider for the 4-

county region of Des Moines, Henry, Lee, and Louisa Counties.

  • Operated out of the SEIRPC office in West Burlington
  • Purchase 2 additional buses for the SEIBUS fleet,

currently at 25 vehicles

  • Both would be new model 18-passenger Light Duty

buses with ADA accessibility

  • Needed due to an increase in the number of services

provided, and the overall age of vehicles in the fleet Total Cost: $158,000 STBG Requested: $126,400 Local Share: $31,600 (20%)

Sponsor: Henry County Project: W55 HMA Resurfacing with Cold in Place

  • 7.8 Mile road segment, extending north-to-south from

County J20 in Salem, to 235th Street (Business 34) west of Mount Pleasant

  • Repairing and increasing the structural capacity of W55;

will include the resurfacing of granular shoulders

  • Serves to connect areas of southwest Henry County

(Salem, Hillsboro, etc.) to county seat and largest city, Mount Pleasant

  • Provides connection to US 34 for SW Henry County
  • Extends through Oakland Mills

Total Cost: $2,150,000 STBG Requested: $2,150,000 Local Share: $0 (0%)

TAP APPLICATIONS

Sponsor: City of Burlington Project: West Avenue Connector Trail

  • 1,000 foot long, 10-foot wide trail, between

Roosevelt Avenue (Highway 61) and Terrace Drive

  • Would replace an existing sidewalk, to close a gap

between two separate trail segments

  • Includes crossing improvements at Roosevelt, and

a new crosswalk across West Avenue, to connect with the trail leading to Ed Stone Middle School.

  • To the west, would connect to the RecPlex and

Great River Medical Center

  • Existing retaining wall by Notre Dame School will

be replaced Total Cost: $298,600.70 TAP Requested: $238,880.56 Local Share: $59,720.14 (20%)

Sponsor: City of Fort Madison Project: Connecting Fort Madison! Phase IV Trail

  • Fourth phase of an ongoing project to develop a trails

system on the far west side of Fort Madison

  • Trail system spearheaded by PORT (Promoting Outdoor

Recreational Trails), a local non-profit

  • 2,080-foot long, 10-foot wide trail segment along the

west side of 48th Street, traveling north to south

  • Will pass directly in front of the Baxter Sports Complex
  • Will connect the Phase I and Phase III trail segments,

which provide connections to Fort Madison Middle School, Fort Madison Community Hospital, and Ivanhoe Park Total Cost: $415,180 TAP Requested: $332,144 Local Share: $83,036 (20%)

Sponsor: City of Keokuk Project: Riverfront Trail System

  • 1-mile segment of trail along the Mississippi River, from

just east of Main Street to the public boat launch south

  • f Roquette
  • An existing 1,600 section of trail will be upgraded –

asphalt to concrete, ADA improvements

  • New 3,600 foot extension westward, with portions

following Mississippi Drive, and others directly following the river

  • Will connect numerous public amenities – Victory Park,

Hubinger Landing, Emerald Lady Restaurant Barge, South Side Boat Club, etc.

  • Stormwater drainage upgrades in areas where the trail

will extend through what is presently a roadside ditch Total Cost: $808,528.88 TAP Requested: $606,396.63 Local Share: $202,132.25 (25%)

  • New 0.75-mile segment of trail on the south side
  • f Winfield Avenue, from Grand Avenue to

Broadway Street (east to west)

Avenue, from Winfield to Baker Street (north to south)

  • Grand Avenue section already graded for a trail
  • Will feed into an existing 5.5-mile trail arc around

the east side of Mount Pleasant, connecting to the industrial park, East Lake Park, the high school, and Old Threshers Grounds

  • Currently no sidewalk along Winfield, with deep

ditches alongside Total Cost: $643,100 TAP Requested: $450,000 Local Share: $193,100 (30%)
