1. Nurtured and/ or started relationships with key civic groups. 2. S ummarized common themes, issues, and concerns from our community forum. 3. S ubmitted a motion to Council that will identify future resources needed for committee’s initiatives such as: a)engaging with newcomers and long-time residents; b)facilitating intercultural education and dialogues; and c) empowering minority groups.

Moving Forward Recommendations

  • That Multicultural Advisory Committee build on and

continue formal involvements with other civic agencies and groups, encourage members to assist and give advice to other civic groups, initiatives or programs;

  • The Multicultural Advisory Committee will host one

maj or community consultation forum at least once every 2 years.

  • Make sure that Council provide appropriate funding to

undertake needed work and initiatives.
